chapter four

"Mark get up" I whispered shaking him

He stirred and turned over to his side. I moved over and placed my chin on his shoulder.

"Please get up" I whispered "everyone will be waking up soon and you have to be on the couch"

He didn't reply

"Please Mark" I spoke again

This time he got up and so did I. We walked to the door and I slowly opened it. He began to walk down the stairs one slow step at a time and I followed.

"What are you doing?" He whispered as he noticed that I was following him

"Getting you a blanket" I whispered back "now shut up and keep walking"

We continued to walk down the second flight of stairs and into the living room

"Here you go" I whispered and handed Mark a blanket

"Thanks" he replied as he took it

"Did you need me to tuck you in?" I asked playfully

"If you don't mind" he responded lying on the couch

I scoffed a laugh "you're funny Sloan"

"I'm not kidding Grey" he spoke with a more serious tone

"Yeah okay I'm going back to bed" I spoke

Mark quickly grabbed my hand as I was about to walk off and pulled me on the couch with him

We laughed loudly

"I told you to tuck me in" he spoke

"Fine" I replied and sat up as he lied down

I looked into his blue eyes and stroked his hair. "Sweet dreams" I spoke

I was about to kiss him but was stopped when we heard footsteps from the top of the stairs. My heart dropped.

"Shit" I whispered as I got up and quickly ran behind the couch. Mark laid back down.

"What was the noise?" I heard a voice ask

It sounded a lot like Dereks

"What noise? I think you're hallucinating Derek" I heard Mark reply

"I heard a scream"

"You're hearing things. Go back to bed"

The footsteps soon continued up the stairs. I waited a few minutes to make sure Derek was gone.

Before I could get up a pillow was thrown behind the couch where I was.

I stood up "really?" I whispered throwing the pillow back at Mark

He put a finger on his lips to remind me to be quiet.

"Don't shh me loud mouth" I whispered walking off

He chuckled and put the blanket over himself "see you soon" he spoke. I began walking back upstairs to my room.

Time went forever as I waited for people to start waking up. I tried falling back to sleep but I couldn't the bed felt so empty without him and I didn't like it. The time soon went to 7 am and I began to hear doors opening and people talking. I got up as quickly as I could and walked down the first flight of stairs to the hallway were I saw Meredith and Derek exiting their room.

"Morning Lexie" Derek spoke

"Morning" Meredith added with a smile

"Morning" I replied
