Touko x N; Mei x Hugh (Pokémon B/W ships)

Chapter III

Narrator POV

"Ah, there you are Mr. N" the young man with pistachio hair starts to look around the classroom, then his gaze finally lands on Touko, a small smirk is perceptible. Touko, on the other hand, feels like she's dreaming, she feels her heart skip a beat. The friend who decided to go far from here comes back juts like that, without warning. The soft atmosphere is now palpable, almost dreamlike and oxygen seems to be lacking because the young brunette feels her breathing diminish and her cheeks turn slightly pink. She stares at him, drowns into his attractive gaze, everything goes in slow motion. Has time stopped ?

"You are excused for this first day of class, but don't let it happen again." says Misses Hopers. The woman now turns to the whole class "And it's the same rule for everyone, no latecomer would be suitable, thank you in advance" she informs. "Oh, and you can go sit down" the teacher says, N nods with a polite smile and then walks over to the empty square which is almost at the back, next to the wall.

While the teacher continues to make the roll call, Haruna turns to Mei and Touko. "Isn't that the guy you told me about last time, the other hero of Unova ??" she whispers to her neighbor. Mei looks at Touko then Haruna with round eyes, filled with curiosity. Touko looks at her two friends "It's so weird that he suddenly appears... and in a high school" she says "Maybe he wanted to continue his studies, or maybe the region and this city missed him" Haruna adds. "But... I don't understand who is heee" Mei intervenes. Touko smiles a little sadly at Mei "Ah, I'm sorry...I'll explain to you at the break" "Okay!"

The lesson continues, the three girls discreetly scrutinize the boy with the long hair, then one of the three ends up staring at Hugh, daydreaming. Many questions were popping up in Touko's head, she draw on one of her lesson sheets to pass the time and to try to get N out of her mind.

*DRIIIN*

The bells announcing recess are ringing throughout the establishment. The majority of the students are already exhausted and they rapidly leave the classroom to go outside. The three friends quickly put away their school furnitures wanting to retain N, and Hugh for Mei's part. However, after placing her school bag on her shoulder, Haruna calls Touko "Hey hurry, he's already gone!" "W-what?!". Mei turns to her friends "Sorry I'll let you sort this out, I have something to do!" She announces, hurrying towards the exit. The other two sigh "Well... we only have one class left, History-Geo, then we'll eat in the canteen, and then the last lesson is English, we'd better hurry to find him Haru" Haruna nods her head, frowning, determined [*Helping find someone important to your friend fills you with DETERMINATION-]. The two teenage girls quickly leave the classroom and begin the research.

Mei POV

Okay, let's go !  I enter the 1st floor, the one of the secondary school students, then walk quietly in front of the CDI and pass in front of some classes to try to find him. I saw him go through there, so normally I shouldn't get lost. I try to continue my way through the kids who sneak in to go to playtime, then I manage to stand in front of the toilet to avoid the big invasion of minimoys. I sigh, if only it were easy. I look around to see if the way is clear. YES ! I keep looking in these empty hallways. Wait what the-

"Ouch..." I bumped into someone again!

A girl with short brown hair rubs her nose as she apologizes. My eyes fall on her neck and cleavage, she has a choker and another beautiful necklace. A sort of black ball surrounded by a blue ring and a half yellow ring. Weird but original. What a weirdo!

"S-sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you!" I help her get up, smiling at her.

"Nah, it's also my fault, I wasn't looking where I was going!"

She opens her white eyes looking at me then smiles back. Wait- W-White eyes ?!

I remain fixed on the spot, then in a blink of eyelashes, I see that her eyes have changed to turquoise blue, then just light blue. An opal blue.

"Is there something wrong ?" she asks with a soft voice, waving her hand in front of my face, she looks worried. Then the next second, she stares at me very strangely.

"A-ahaha no ! Everythin's fine ! I...was lost in my thoughts" No, her eyes really were blue, it probably was an optical illusion or something like that, Mei stop with sugar-

I apologize again and then look around, desperate not to see Hugh. Ever since I first saw him, I knew right away that something extraordinary was going to happen... It's like there's a thread that forces us to join. This thread pushes me to find him, I do not know for what reason, but it is as if it were for a specific reason, the only purpose of my life!-Pff....what am I thinkin' ? Calm down...can't find him anyways, so...

"Uhm...Are you looking for someone ?"

Suddenly, the girl I accidentally jostled pats me on the shoulder, making me jump. Her hand is...cold

I nod my head.

"Isn't that this boy by any chance? Because he looks like he's looking for someone too" she says, pointing to Hugh.

That's him ! I turn around to thank her.

"Yes! Thank y-"

But...she disappeared?.. She walks super fast...

Without asking myself a question, I stick to the wall so as not to be flushed out. What should I do now...? I didn't think about that..Do I have to talk to him ?

I wait a few moments, thinking. He's so handsome, there's no way he's single, he must already have a girlfriend... Or he's gay ! No, then anyway... I can't have fallen in love from day one anyway, so why am I thinking about that ?!

"Hey uh...you okay there ?" Oh my god  I look at my interlocutor. Hugh finally talks to me, I do my best to contain my embarrassment and my cliché blushes of an anime girl. "O-oh uhm yeah ! Why ?" I stammered..ew 

"Well 'cause I saw you looking at the ground and you looked worried" he replies "Oh, in fact, I was looking for ya" I reply back. WHY DID I SAY THAT SO QUICKLY ?! THATS TOO HONEST !! "Oh really ? That's funny..in fact, I think I was looking for you too" Hugh confesses, he puts down his backpack, and puts his hands in his pockets. "Ah?" I finally answer after a little moment of thought, I stare at his eyes doubtfully, I was really not prepared for him to say that. He does his hair automatically, replying in turn "Yeah, I just wanted to ask you what kind of class we have next ?" I look at him and give a little "Oh". So I dig in my bag, not having remembered the schedule in mind, I take it out and show it to him. 

"But- wait, didn't the teacher give you the schedule ?" I ask him tilting my head to the side. He doesn't answer then stares at me, he looks lost in the clouds.  What, is he okay ? I blink while waiting for his answer, then he shakes his head with rosy cheeks. "A-ah yes uh, uhm... No, she forgot to give it to me and another girl in the class, there are two or three of us who didn't have the sheet, I think they ran out of schedules" 

" Ooh... "

As he inspects our schedule, I'm thinking of a way to help him. The CDI is open! " Wait, if you want, we'll photocopy this sheet so you can get it right away!" I say to him with a smile. He smiles back at me "Ok, let's go".
