"Bilbo is in trouble!" Fili's words rang in my ear as we ran through the forest to where the ponies were.
"This way." Fili motioned to a tunnel, where I heard a battle cry come from. The others ran through, I saw a line of trees run around the small hill where the tunnel was. I lagged behind, and jumped onto a branch, then swung up. Balancing, I jumped to another tree, and made my way over the tunnel and soon found myself perched on a pine tree, surveying the scene. I saw the company fighting three trolls"Ha!"I thought, remembering what Thorin and I had argued about earlier "I told you they where trolls!" I thought folding my arms, smirking. I noticed Bilbo frantically trying to untie the ponies.
"Where is Iri?" I heard Kili ask, I watched him lopp off the little toe of the beast in front of him.
"Your girlfriend was stupid enough, and brave enough to challenge me to a duel." Thorin scoffed. I narrowed my eyes at him. "But she left at the first sight of actual trouble." He finished smiling, hacking at the shin of the same monster. I clenched my jaw and my bow in anger. I quickly notched three arrows. I had never shot more than one arrow before, but it doesn't seem like it would be too hard... I pulled back, aiming at the troll Kili was attacking. I let loose, one of the arrows hit the troll square in the eye. the others missed, one embedding itself in the arm of a difrent monster, the last one hitting a tree over by Bilbo's head. He looked up with a panicked look on his face. I notched another arrow and shot it on the ground next to Thorin. I jumped down, simultaneously putting my bow on my back. I landed between Kili and Thorin, who glared at me. I glared right back.
"You had better be glad you are Kili's stupid uncle, and not just a stupid jerk." I said to him, unsheathing my sword and turning towards the beast. "Or that arrow would have gone two inches to the left." I growled. then lunged at the enemy, who was sitting on the ground, holding his eye. I think Thorin got the picture.
"Lay down your arms!" One of the other monsters called out. I looked up, and saw Bilbo suspended in between both of the other trolls, arms and legs held tightly. I stumbled to a stop mid lunge. His face looked more panicked than I thought was possible. I heard a clatter as the others stepped back and sloely let their weapons fall to the ground. I clutched my sword, weighing the risk. "maybe I can shoot him down, or maybe I could..." I thought, hopelessly trying to come up with a solution. Bilbo yelled out in pain as the monsters pulled a little bit harder, looking at me. I looked into Bilbo's eyes, and saw pain, and fear. Then I turned to the trolls. I looked them both in the eye with as much hatred as I could muster, then stepped back and fell into line with the dwarves, and set my weapons down. One of the monsters took Bilbo and put him in a potato bag. The other one grabbed Kili by the head.
"Leave him alone!" I yelled, angrily grabbing at the thing's arm and digging my fingernails into his flesh. he shook me off, I landed in a sitting position. I quickly stood up. Fili grabbed my arm to stop me, as Kili was thrust roughly into another Potato bag and dropped to the ground. I looked around as the other one grabbed Ori, and Dwalin, and tied them to a post over the fire. I looked at Fili, and I felt tears well up in my eyes. I blinked them away, and tried to replace the sadness everyone being captured and of defeat, with anger at the monsters. I suddenly felt myself being lifted up, and was brought face to face with the troll that was clearly the leader. I could tell he was the smartest and had a total of two brain cells.
"Is one's pretty." he said. I growled at him. I heard Kili yell something foul at him. "Maybe we should keep it as a pet." The creature said. I bit his thumb. His grip tightened for a split second, then he dropped me. I landed in a sitting position, the wind knocked out of me. I spat onto the dirt.
"It doesn't seem to be very tame." The other one added.
"That was groooss..." I said, grimacing and spitting again. "remind me to never do that again." I added, talking to no one in particular. I suddenly realized that I was one of the few not in bags, or over the fire. I then registered what was being said about me. "HOLD UP!" I shouted. "I'm not going to be anyone's pet! and If you try to kill me and my friends, then YEAH! It's not gonna be pretty!" I said, standing up. I saw Fili be picked up and tied with the rest onto the pole above the fire. I was itching to pick up my bow and sword. I knew I could take them out... but... they might hurt someone. One of the monsters reached down to grab me again. I rolled out of the way.
