We had been on the road for at least a month, when at last I saw the beautiful hills of the shire.
"Why do you always wear that cloak?" Fili inquiered.
"It comes in handy sometimes when I want to disappear." I flipped my hood up and stepped back to disappear into the shadows.
"See?" I said, revealing myself and walking back towards the group.
"Maybe you could be our thief," Fili joked.
"Why not?" I asked. He shrugged.
"They don't know your coming," Kili responded.
"Hm..." I hummed in response. "Do you think we are going to be late?" I asked.
"The party doesn't start till we get there." Kili said, winking at me. I rolled my eyes and smiled.
"The look on his face is going to be absolutely priceless," Fili said.
"How did you say we were gonna be able to find the right house?"
"Gandalf put a mark on the door."
"Sounds reasonable."
"Excuse me, where is Bilbo Baggins' house?" Fili asked someone we were passing. The hobbit pointed and stumbled away.
"Thank you!" I said. "You sure we should trust his advice? He looked drunk..." I said as we climbed the hill to "Bilbo's" house. We arrived at the house-verified by the glowing blue mark on the door- and Kili knocked. The door opened to show a hobbit, as one would expect in a hobbit hole. This particular one had brown hair, brown eyes, and big feet. He made a sort of groaning sound.
"Fili," Fili introduced
"Kili," Kili added.
"And Irena," I said, doing a small curtsy.
"At your service." Fili and Kili said together, bowing.
"You must be Mr. Boggins!" Kili said, smiling.
"NOPE! You can't come in, you've come to the wrong house," the hobbit, apparently Bilbo, said, trying to close the door.
"Rude..." I thought to myself
"What? Has it been canceled?" Kili asked.
"Nobody told us," Fili said. "Stupid munchkin," He muttered. I kicked him. Fili winced.
"Canceled?" Bilbo asked. "No, nothing has been canceled."
"Well that's a relief," Kili said, pushing open the door and walking in, followed by Fili, who swaggered in like he owned the place, then me, who the hobbit looked -on top of being flustered- surprised by seeing me with a group of dwarves. Fili handed over his weapons to Bilbo.
"Be careful with them. I just had them sharpened," Fili said.
"It's nice, this place," Kili complimented. "Did you do it yourself?" he asked, rubbing the bottoms of his shoes on a box by the door. I set my bow by the door and unclipped my sword and placed it next to it, making sure to keep my dagger on me.
"No, it's been in the family for years." Bilbo said. "That's my mother's glory box, can you NOT do that?" he said, his arms still piled high with Fili's weapons.
"Come on," I said, pulling Kili by his shirt sleeve towards the other dwarfs I had spotted in the other room. We walked into the dining room, where a bald, intimidating dwarf and Balin were shoving some furniture out of the way. I remembered Balin from the last dwarven feast Kili had invited me to. I heard the doorbell ring and smiled.
