"Thank you." I said as a elieth showed me to my room. I walked in and gasped at it's beauty. golden vines lined the ceiling, and twisted up the four poster bed frame, along with brown ones, creating a golden and brown vine canopy. there was a table that looked as if twigs and vines and leaves twisted and weaved themselves together, with chairs that looked as if they were trees, and a leaf carpet, and golden arches leading to a balcony that looked over the river. the walls where a nice dark brown to contrast the brightness of the gold.
I flopped onto the bed, suddenly feeling tired after months on the road, and oh my gosh, it was so fluffy, I felt like I was floating, so much so I had to open my eyes to double check. I closed my eyes again and recapped the last couple of weeks. first, Kili came and told me we were going on the crazy, stupid, awesome adventure to go fight a dragon, then we raided poor Bilbo's house, then we set off, encountered trolls and orcs, and ended up with me flopping on an elven bed, and Thorin not yelling and glaring at every single elf he saw. I sat up. Speaking of Thorin... I heard a knock on my door.
"Who is it?" I asked, clutching my dagger.
"Your favorite dwarf!" Kili said, striding in. I flopped back on the bed, face up.
"Hey Kili." I said, sighing.
"You okay?" He asked, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Just thinking about me and Thorin." I said. "I feel like we just got off on the wrong foot, but I can't seem to talk to him without getting into another glaring match. I wanna apologise, I really do, but... Then there is the part of me that screams that he deserves shame and misery. I know he doesn't, but still. He thinks that I don't belong with you because I am a woman. Which is stupid, but still, I don't wanna hate him. But again, I can't get anywhere near him without him glaring daggers at me." I sighed again and closed my eyes. "I don't know."
Kili grabbed my hand, and I felt my face turn crimson. My eyes snapped open as he pulled me into a hug.
"I'm not very good at comforting..." Kili whispered. I relaxed and let my head drop onto his shoulder.
"Your doing great." I said, closing my eyes again. I wasn't sure how much time past, but after a while, I heard a knock on the door. I groaned, then broke out of the hug and went to open the door.
"Hey Fili." I said tiredly.
"Hi Irina. Where is Kili?" Fili asked.
"He's in here." I said.
"Okay, while it's all well and good for my brother to be getting a girlfriend," Fili teased. "It's dinner time."
"We are not a couple! for the five hundred and sixty fourth time!" I protested.
"Riiight..." Fili said, grinning cheekily at Kili, who had just walked up.
"Whatever." I sighed, and walked out of my room. "where is dinner?" I asked Fili.
"This way." Fili said, taking the lead.
"Thorin is gonna be there." I mumbled, half to no one, half to Kili. He put an arm around me in comfort. "hold on... when did I start having feelings for Kili? how did I just notice this? doesn't matter. he is a prince, and I'm literally no one. I don't have any idea who, or what I am."
"I have returned!" Fili said, making a dramatic entrance to where all the other dwarves were seated, cooking food around a campfire. I sat down on a couch behind Bofur, who was cooking a sausage, and Bifur, who was strangely, trying to roast lettuce. I looked around, trying to find Thorin. I didn't see him, or Balin, or Bilbo, or Gandalf.
