New Route Home {Gon}

{Gon POV}

"Would ya knock it off. What the hell is your problem, get to class"
I looked up to see killua, he was standing up for me?? Against his own friends! That's really new.. he rolled his eyes as his friends started walking towards him. He mouthed a "sorry" to me and continued walking. I watched him leave. His soft white hair bounced up and down with each step, I wished so badly that I could run up and grab him into a hug and thank him but that would be strange.. especially for two people who haven't met before. And the fact that I was a laughing stock and he was the most popular boy in the whole school..

Two classes later..

I sighed, History and Math were both really hard for me. History because I had trouble paying attention and Math because it was just incredibly hard for me to understand anything.. plus I didn't have anyone in those classes that I talked to or even an acquaintance.

I began packing up my backpack in my locker as I anticipated yesterday's evens happening again. There were two boys who pushed me to the ground and kicked me until bruises, cuts and blood showed up all over my body and I wanted to throw up from the shoes being shoved into my gut.. it seemed that they had waited for me and knew my route home. I couldn't go back, I need to find another route. I didn't care if I got lost I just didn't want to come home to my Aunt Mito beaten and bloody again..

I stepped out the door, I saw the pink haired girl and Retz talking to each other as they walked. I'm glad they're getting along! I'm sure they will be very good friends.
I came to my normal spot and turned left instead of right. I walked for a little while until a familiar voice made me jump.
"Haha! What are you doing walking with a little fag like him? I thought I said to stay away from him"
Daren. But.. who was he talking to? I turned my head back to take a glance, my eyes met with.. Killuas?!
"Leave it alone Daren, this is my normal route I don't know why he's here either but I don't care, ok?"
Those words stung a little.. but not more than when Daren shoved me to the ground right then and there.
"What? You think Killua is gonna fuck you? Is that why you're here?"
I hit the ground right on my tailbone and yelped out in pain as I felt the shock roll up my spine, I fell over and curled up into a little ball and shut my eyes tight. Waiting for the next blow. But nothing happened.. Instead A shadow cast over me as Killua stepped in Darens way and protected me, putting his arms out.
"You dumbass! What the hell was that for! Get outta here before I make you!"
From what I could tell Daren was in pure shock
"Killubro come on, you've never stopped me before. Why now? You into him or something?"
Killua leaned closer to Daren.
"You listen to me, why the hell would I wanna be friends with someone who hurts others for fun. You better knock it off soon or I'm not gonna hang out with you anymore you idiot."
He relaxed his arms and put them to his sides again. I felt so safe in his shadow, since I was curled up, his shadow covered me entirely. It was like I was in a little pool of safety.
"Damn killubro.. you a faggot too? Jesus"
Something happened between them and Daren scoffed and walked off, I couldn't see exactly what.
"Come on Z"
Killua turned around and looked at me, putting his hand out to me.
"I'm sorry.. you ok?"
I was so in shock, he looked so handsome up close. I had never been this close to him before. His eyes were such a bright blue and they were so pretty. I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.
"Try to ignore them alright, they aren't worth your time. And as long as I am here they'll leave you alone ok"
He smiled, his teeth were so bright and I had just know noticed that he had eyeliner on. I couldn't help but blush as I looked back at him.
"Th-thanks" is all I could say in return. He nodded and began to walk as I followed. I was entranced by him. And no one else was here so I had him all to myself. My heart skipped a beat as I thought about how we could talk all the way home.
