It's not every day you see 8 pro heroes in the principal's office, and to be honest, they didn't know what they were doing there either. They were called in by Nezu without an explanation and told to pack enough stuff for 2 months.

Aizawa, who was currently hiding in the corner of the room, was not pleased. Him and his husband were dragged out of bed on a Saturday morning to come all the way to the school for God knows what, and to make matters worse, there wasn't an ounce of coffee in site.

Upon arriving, they discovered All Might, Endeavor, Mirko, Hawks, Sir Nighteye, and Fatgum already there. His husband Hizashi, otherwise known as Present Mic, looked just as confused as he felt.

Mirko and Hawks chatted away about the crime rates in their areas while Endeavor and All Might glared at each other (there goes any hope of getting through this peacefully). Hizashi went to join in the conversation with Sir Nighteye and Fatgum while he just went to the quietest corner as he waited for his boss to make his grand entrance.

Not two minutes later, Nezu walk into the door. "Am I a dog, a mouse, a bear, more important, it is I, The Principle of UA, Nezu!"
Shota rolled his eyes at his boss's theatrics.

Everyone's attention turned to the principle, waiting to find out the reason why they were here.

"I'm sure you're wondering why I brought you all here today," he continued, hands folding together on his desk, flashing that sadistic smile of his, " well, I suppose I'll just get right into it then. Upon recent development, it has come to my attention that less and less heroes truly know how to handle the civilians they are protecting, too caught up in the fights and press. So, I've devised a plan."

Shota had a feeling he wasn't going to like where this was going, and from the tense atmosphere and slight shifts made by the others, he assumed they were getting the same feeling.

"Tomorrow you will be going to a local orphanage to choose a child of your preference to spend the next two months with."

The room was dead silent. An adult, as annoying as they could be, is manageable. They understand what you say and are aware of how to behave around others, but a child, they're still learning, let alone having to take on the task with 7 other heroes? Will the kid even survive?

Endeavor was the first to speak up, "Absolutely not, I do not have time to play with children, nor to hang around goofing off with these fools."

"Ouch man, were not that bad." Hawks joked, trying to lighten the mood.

Nighteye spoke next, " I fail to see how this will help."

"You would not be so out of turn to think that a child who was deprived of their family does not have any trauma of such would you. Being in a situation that is unfamiliar to you with people you don't normally hang around will be a great way to allow you to develop to unorthodox situations in the future." Nezu responded, although anyone with two braincells could figure out that this was mainly for Nezu's enjoyment. He always did like screwing with people.

"I say bring it on, this kids gonna have the best 2 months of their life" Mirko said, earning a high five from his husband, a scoff from endeavor, and adding to his ever-growing headache.

" I'm worried we might overwhelm the kid though; wouldn't you be pretty stressed out to be in a situation like that?" Fatgum stated, he wasn't necessarily against the idea, but he had his apprehensions about throwing the kid into such a new and stressful environment.

Nezu raised an eyebrow and oh, that was the challenge wasn't it, to handle keeping the kid calm and comfortable under such god awful (for him at least) circumstances.  He pities the poor kid who has to be dragged into this.

All Might, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, finally spoke up, "I don't think this is a good idea, these kids have a long list of problems on their own, what makes you so sure they would even want to do this. On top of that I don't have time to hide away in a house paying parent to a child."

Aizawa never was a big fan of the number one hero. The man was all about publicity and putting on a good show. Many others in the room frowned at his wording, even Endeavor.

"Well, I suppose it's a good thing it's not your choice then. There are plenty of pro heroes who will help take over the area and patrols you cover. Let me make this clear, this is mandatory, it's not an option. If you wish to go back to your lives as heroes you will do as your told. I do so hope you will also learn how to get along during this because if you happen to make the child's life worse, there will be consequences."

Everyone felt a shiver run down their spine at the glare sent to them by the principle. He wasn't a major fan of humans, but he didn't mind kids as much as adults, something about being less tampered and poisoned by this world, and they knew well that he would follow through with his threat.

"Thankfully for you, the child is once again your choice, so choose wisely."

And with that they were dismissed, told to head out to a car waiting at the entrance that would take them to the house.

The car itself was pretty nice. Leather seats, plenty of space, but it was overall ruined by the intense atmosphere that resided in it.

Aizawa opted to sit in the passenger seat as Hizashi offered to drive. The house was apparently a good 8 hours away and apart from any cites (likely to keep them from doing hero work).

"So," Hawks said, trying to break the silence, "anyone got any preferences on the kid were supposed to pick out?"

All might frowned and looked out the window while Endeavor scoffed, rolled his eyes and promptly looked away. Right, great start.

Surprisingly, Present Mic was the one to speak up first, "Honestly I think it's something we'll have to figure out for ourselves. No kid is the same, but I think we'll know when we see them."

"When did you get all wise?" Mirko joked.

"I haven't the faintest idea." He responded smiling, keeping the mood light.

The rest of the drive passed quicker than expected, with Mic blasting the radio and pairing up with hawks and Mirko to yell the lyrics from the top of their lungs.

Halfway through Aizawa switched out with Mic so he could take a break. Small chatter spiking up a few times, while others, like Sir Nighteye and Endeavor, seemed determined to sleep the entire way there.

Upon arriving to the house (more like a mansion) everyone decided it would be best to simply call it a day, going off to their separate rooms, except for Aizawa and Yamada (who opted to share a room instead), to unpack their things and settle in.

Thankfully, the place had Wi-Fi and was fully stocked, so they didn't have to go to the store and get it all themselves (though they would probably get some snacks anyway).

Having had enough for one day, they retreated to bed, maybe when they wake up, they will find it to have just been a nightmare.
