a young girl of the age of fifteen woke up to her alarm clock, as usual. she lazily got out of bed, looking all messy and tired. she didn't want to go to school, like most of the kids in her age. she just wanted to lay down in bed all day. she would try to remember how her parents took her to the skating park when she was littler. but now that she's fifteen, she had stopped going there to skate, but rather, watch kids skate.

the girl quickly took her pajamas off, sliding on her school uniform. as she brushed her teeth, she noticed the eyebags under her eyes. she hadn't slept all night, thanks to her brother crying when he couldn't sleep. normally, the girl would cover them with make-up, not wanting to look like absolute shit to her school. but today, she decided to ignore them.

she walked out and went to check on her brother, who was still sound asleep. the look on her brother's face when he was asleep made her ever so slightly smile.

she picked up her casual black back-pack and slid on her shoes, then walked back into the younger kid's room. she gently kissed him before leaving the house. she walked towards her school, not bothering to watch where she was going. ren really was difficult to raise and handle all on her own. without her awareness, she accidentally bumped into a tall, muscular guy.

"hey, watch where you're going, you little brat!" he said.

without even looking back, rin pronounced the words 'i'm sorry' loud enough to hear. he ignored her, letting out a 'tsk', as he continued on his path.

the teen, however, clearly didn't listen to the man, making the same mistake - this time bumping into a red-haired guy. she recognized him from her school. he was older than her, so they weren't in the same class.

"sorry." she simply said.

"no, it's my fault. here, let me help." he said, extending a hand for her to grab.

"thanks. i seem to be really clumsy today." she said tiredly. as much as she could tell, her day would definitely not be her best.

"hey... you okay? you seem really tired.." he asked, noticing her eye-bags.

she groaned. "just didn't get enough sleep."

"cool. my name is-" the female interrupted him.

"reki kyan, i know." she smiled.

"stalker?!" he exclaimed, getting the surrounding people's unnecessary attention.

"NO! i mean, no. we just go to the same school. i'm a year younger, or something, though." she explained.

"oh. i didn't realize we go to the same school. hehe." he said.

"yeah. you're always running in the hallways with that blue-haired dude." the girl sweat-dropped.

"oh. haha, that's embarrassing..." he laughed.

"i think i should get going now. don't wanna be late." she told him.

"hey, do you know how to skate?" he asked.

"no..." she lied.

"oh. see ya, then!" he said, riding his skate-board and leaving.

rin got to school a little early, so she decided to pick a seat in the back. the rest of the school day went as usual: classes - boring; students from different ages bullying her; not paying attention in class. none of it mattered to her. she just wanted to find a new meaning to her life. the woman went to her home today, rather than going to the skate park as she usually did, just to get that extra little bit of sleep she needed. however, that was interrupted by her younger sibling crying loudly from his little bedroom. the poor girl sighed to herself. maybe one day she can feel fresh - hopefully start a bright, cheerful day.

she decided that she should indeed pay her favourite place - the skate park - a visit. she carried the 4-year-old child with her, carefully crossing the street like how she was taught ever since she was a little girl. soon enough, she was at the park, sat down and watching the young kids and older teenagers skating. and oh, how much she wished she could join them.

"hey, just wondering, but... do you skate?" a youthful, black-haired kid approached the high-schooler.

"i can roller-skate, kind of." she told him

"kind of?" he repeated.

"yeah. well, i used to."

"why'd you stop then?" he questioned.

rin looked down to the floor. "i almost got hit by a car a few years ago. ever since, i just stopped skating."

"oh." he said. "do you like skating?"

"i love it." i told him

"then why don't you continue? you know, to skate?"

"i guess i just can't afford to get hurt. my brother is four, and there's no one else to look after him."

"can i see you skate? just this once?"

"i- did you not just hear me?" the teenager asked the kid.

"i did, but who knows? you might have a talent, or go back to skating? if it's a hobby, you shouldn't quit."

"i don't like to... but i guess.. since i miss skating."

the young girl handed the boy her little brother as she took out her old, dirty roller-skates, which she never took out of her back-pack in years. seeing them again made her smile. she loved roller-skating, and to be fair, she never wanted to give it up. now she was given the opportunity to skate once again. she put her skates on, and told herself she can do it. the female took a deep breath and showed him some of her favourite moves that she was unsure if she could still preform. she didn't move from her place, however. she decided to skate in her exact spot, doing what looked like dance moves; she knew that if she had roamed the place, she'd get lost in the world of skating.

"hey! it's you again!" a male voice spoke, distracting rin and making her fall.

"my name's rin..." she thought she'd inform whoever it was. "oh. hey there."

"that was so cool!" the familiar, red-haired boy said.

"well, i still don't do skating-" she got interrupted.

"hey wait, didn't you tell me you can't skate?" reki asked. she picked herself off of the ground and untied the laces of her skates, carefully putting them back into her black back-pack.

"you should totally skate more. you're talented!"

the young girl frowned. she's been told many times that she was good at skating, and as much as she wanted to continue skating, she knew it was impossible with her little brother. she zipped her bag and threw it over her shoulders.

"i don't want to roller-skate..."

"don't you like to? i mean, you could probably become really popular if you skate at 'S'!"

she dusted her clothes, ready to leave. "look, i was done with skating years ago. i don't know why i even did this..." she took her baby brother back from the younger black-haired male.

"'cause you still like roller-skating, and you know it!" reki smiled.

he was right. they all knew that. the woman tried to brush it off, but now she couldn't stop thinking about it. it angered her. she didn't want to get back to skating, but at the same time, she did. she just didn't get it. "i'm leaving. see you."

"hey, wait!" the kid called, but being the bigger person, rin ignored him and made her way back home.
