the youthful rin got up early, unlike her usual schedule. it's true that she still hasn't slept much, but she spent her night thinking of what the boys at the park said yesterday.
in no time, the girl was at school. she arrived at her locker, taking out the massive, heavy books from her locker. she closed her locker, noticing a figure standing behind it. the figure seemed to frighten the girl for a moment.
"fuck, it's you..." she cursed, not even bothering to look at the older, red-haired guy. memories of yesterday flooded her brain, and in a second, she was irritated.
"look, i'm sorry about yesterday. i didn't mean to be pushy. i should've respected your will." reki apologized.
"don't bother." she said coldly. "just leave me alone."
"i didn't want to make you do something you against your desires. sorry." he left, not wanting to bother the girl and be pushy like yesterday.
rin knew she was probably over-reacting. it wasn't that big; she should've brushed it off. but she couldn't help it. she got mad when people disrespected her wishes. she wished she could just be left alone.
the girl spent her whole day thinking of what she should do. should she apologize? why does this even matter? all she did was try something she loved, and deep inside, she knew she was somewhat happy. happy that she skated once again. happy to know she still loves skating. but the happiness inside her died every time she remembered her little brother. soon, her day was over and she went to her home. she changed into an oversized black shirt and some denim shorts, along with some white, knee-high socks, with two black stripes circling the top. she put on her black shoes and checked on her baby brother. seeing that he was still sleeping, the schoolgirl left the house.
she walked in the streets, just roaming the area, until she saw the black-haired kid from yesterday, with a bunch of interviewers and journalists. he must be some famous skater. he preformed a trick, and all the audience applauded. she softly smiled. her mind told her she couldn't skate, but this voice in her head... it's like she couldn't control it. nor could she control her body as she unwillingly took her roller skates out of her bag, slithering them on. she tried telling herself to stop, but her body wouldn't listen. she picked up her bag, making her way to the park in her black and pink skates.
before she knew it, the girl skillfully skated in the park. she found it easy to catch up with the skate-boarders. roller-skating took her about 3 years to master. she'd trip; she'd fall; she'd bleed. but she didn't ever give up. it hurt her to remember that because of one little incident, she stopped skating. but now, she was having the time of her life, skating around, remembering her moves, and preforming them publicly.
out of nowhere, a black skate-board caught up to her skates. she looked up to see reki. was he just everywhere. she slowed down her roller-skates, coming to a stop.
"hello!" reki spoke cheerfully, happy to see her roller-skating.
"hey. i'm sorry. i over-reacted today. it's really not a big deal whether i want to skate or not." she said, looking down to the floor. she'd probably embarrassed herself at school today.
"huh- no wait! i'm the one who should be sorry!" he said, looking down to see the girl.
"no, it's okay. i'm not mad about that anymore. i... i get like that all the time. i just have anger issues, i guess." she admitted.
"okay, enough with this apology thing. we good now?" he asked, disappointing the girl. she was kind of hoping they could be friends, but of course he wouldn't want that. no one wants to be friends with a hot-tempered girl, after all.
"y-yeah." she said.
"wanna skate together? my friend miya is also coming!" he questioned.
"you probably wouldn't want that." she laughed.
"huh? why?" he was confused.
"i'm a quick-tempered girl, you sure about that?" she informed him.
"well, i don't really care about that. we're friends, aren't we?" these few words touched the younger student. did she finally get her first friend? her eyes watered, a single tear unconsciously rolled down her cheek.
"holy shit- are you crying?!" reki panicked.
"n-no..." the girl wiped her tear.
"cute..." a younger male voice said. he remembered how his reaction was similar to the female.
"miya!" reki said, greeting his friend.
"hey there." miya, rin assumed was his name, said.
"so what do you say? wanna go skating? all three of us?" reki turned his attention to rin.
"okay..." she nodded. both of the males smiled.
"i'm miya, by the way." the kid finally introduced himself.
"cool." she said.
"hey wait let's race!" reki suggested. before anyone could say anything, miya took off, skating away from the two.
"oh, bring it on!" rin challenged, taking of as well, leaving reki to be the last. she had fun today. she really did. she might just get back into this, after all.
