I woke up sweating.

I still had my eyes closed.

I waited for the usual school alarm to sound. But, it didn't.

I opened my eyes and looked at the clock. It was nearly noon.

Looking up at the ceiling, I remembered what had happened the previous day.

I picked up my phone and texted Ma.

Ma, where r u?

Seconds later, she was up in my room. She took my temperature.

"Want something to eat Marshy?"

I nodded.

She smiled and went to fix me up a late breakfast.

Around 12:30, Max came over. He claims, he's at lunch.

We sit down in the living room and watch the sports network.

"Why aren't you at school?" He asks helping himself with popcorn.

"Concussion. I get a whole week off."

He stares at me in awe. "But it wasn't a concussion."

I shrug.

"So how was the party last night?"

He rolls his eyes. "Pretty stupid. It was all G rated, I swear. Parents there and shit."

I laugh. "But the pictures on IG and Facebook?"

"Didn't want the folks to feel 'bad', or anything."

We continue to watch TV until Ma comes in.

"Why hello Maxwell. Aren't you suppose to be in school or something?"

He blushes and I laugh.

"Um, hello Mrs. Mathers. Yes, I was here because Marshall texted me to come over. But I'm leaving now."

He says bye and leaves before my Ma calls his.

Then she turns to me.

"How you feeling baby?"

I groan. She knows I hated it when she calls me baby.

"Good Ma."

She frowns and leaves.

I eventually get bored of this stupid tennis match and go upstairs for a nap.

Before I do, I took a shower and did a little of 'Marshall's fun hour ()'.

I played so John Williams and fell asleep.

I dreamt that I was in the forest. By the rookies. I was running freely and they were more. But I couldn't make them out.

But there was water, and peace and much more I couldn't describe. Fish, plants, flowers, trees, rocks....

It was wonderful.

And this light came from all of it. A blue light and I felt warm admnd safe.

And someone was coming. Their leader.

But I unfortunately woke before I found out who it was.
