The head of the pack, announced that the next day, they would be heading up the mountain: to where the females lived.

Josh was excited that he was going to get his long-term crush as his partner. But Marshall still hadn't asked the head.

So when the sun rose the next day, Marshall snuck out to find the head.

He had found the head outside by the blackberries.

Marshall shifted into his bear form to talk with the head.

    "Excuse me."

The head looked up to Marshall. Then he too, changed his form into his respected cougar.

   "Marshall. Aw, what is it?"

"I was wondering if- well you said that being the new leader- in training of course; I could demand anything."

"Well yes, but what do you want?"

"I want to switch Josh's patented."

The head went quiet. "I don't know about that. That goes for his father to chose. But I guess, you're the one who could change the rules a bit."

"So those that means, I can switch his partner?"

"Of course."

Marshall nodded his head and shifted back into human form.

He headed behind his cabin, into the wolfs den under some rocks.

    "Ayee, Josh!"

Josh came out with his hairs sticking out in every direction.

"Why are you up at these hours Marshall? Go back to sleep. Do you need anything?"

Marshall shook his head. "I got your partner switched!"

   Josh's eyes grew wider. "Really?"

   "Yup!"

Josh punced on Marshall and ran into the woods. Seconds later Marshall heard a howl. It was Josh's way of expressing his happiness.

Then a booming voice said, "We're heading out now!"

The head and the rest of the men were shifting into their forms.

Wolfs, Cougars, Horses, Lions and Bucks.

But he was the only bear.

   "Marshall."

The head called him to the front of the heard.

   He walked up front.

"Marshall, as you know, you're the only holy bear left. Well, at least that we know about. We encourage species to mate with their own species. But since you don't want a female up there, you can mate with any other female you want."

   "Really?"

"Yes, but I would recommend a Lion or a Wolf."

   "Why?"

The head grunted. "Because they don't bitch around like the rest of the females!"

   Marshall laughed. "Alright."

....

It took the pack less than three hours to  climb the mountain.

Marshall's paws ached. He wondered when they were gonna see the first female.

All of the sudden, the bushes nearby shake. The head walks over in that direction, and sniffs it.

A girl, about twenty, comes out.

The head shifts into his human form and greets her.

He also nods for the rest of the pack to shift too.

"Maria, take us with your head."

The girl nods and shows them the way.

The pack follows her until they reach a beautiful stream with similar cabins like the one Marshall owns.

The girl stops in front of one and goes in.

A woman, about in her mid fifty's or sixty's comes out.

"Welcome men. Welcome to our haven."

The boys look around. There were a bunch of girls doing multiple things like skinning meat, washing clothes, cooking.

The head of the girls looked at them.

"My name is Francis. I am the head of ALL the girls here. Before you pick your pick, we will show you to your own cabins."
