Chapter 15

It took Nora another five minutes to get to the car, and spot Taehyung behind the wheel.

She had lost her grip on the human form, and her guardian body returned back to her, a few minutes after Mr. Lee left her. 

The transformation wasn't immediate, like all the times before, when she wasn't suffering from blood loss, and depleted power. The change happened in parts. The first change was her legs, shrinking in size, and becoming shorter in height, along with her muscled arms.

If a human had witnessed this particular change, Namjoon even, it would have scared him out of his mind.

She was a walking freak show, until she returned to her actual body.

Nora didn't bother looking at her reflection on the car windows, as she made her way to their black SUV, and to Taehyung, who was waiting for them.

She didn't want to see the too large head of a guy, attached to a female body, and only waited for the change to complete, once she was a foot away from Taehyung.

"Alright." Nora let out a breath, checking her face in the rear-view mirror of a nearby car, and waited until the last of facial hair disappeared from her skin, and only then, did she limp to where the SUV was parked.

It was a torture to put weight on her injured leg, but Nora was aiming for a healed-look in front of Taehyung. She knew the younger wasn't aware of the extent of her injuries, and she wanted to keep it that way. If Taehyung saw the way she dragged herself, instead of walking a straight line, he would start worrying.

The second youngest had been quick to help them out, and Nora trusted him to keep it secret. Still, she wanted to keep the level of anxiety between the members to a minimum. She didn't know what Namjoon thought about her plan, but she knew Taehyung wouldn't be able to hide his panic for long.

She-

"Urgh!"

Nora's next thought was lost to the white hot pain that filled her head. "Shit!" she cursed under her breath, and leaned heavily on the black SUV.

In her haste to get to Taehyung, Nora had missed the bump in the concrete flooring, and had stumbled over it. Her carelessness caused her another moment of lost time, and dizzying pain, and Nora had to stop moving altogether.

"Nora!" someone shouted, and in the next second, an arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her away from the SUV.

"Wha-"

"It's me."

With her side pressed into a warm chest, and the tight grip on her waist, Nora felt more then heard the next words. "It's Namjoon."

Nora was too disoriented by the pain, to give an answer, and Namjoon didn't wait for it either.

"Let's get you inside." he said, and another arm wrapped under her knees, lifting her up bridal style.

"Stop moving." Nora managed to whisper, in midst of all the jostling.

"S-Sorry. But we need to leave, before Mr. Lee."

"Yes." Nora managed to open her eyes for a few seconds, meeting Namjoon's grim face. "I know."

"Do you want me to-"

"No. Let's go." Nora said, before Namjoon could suggest anything else.

"Okay...okay." Namjoon gave her a once-over, and the frown on his face deepend, but he didn't say anything else. Instead he leaned down and stepped inside the darkened SUV, carrying Nora in his arms.
