I woke up, feeling stiff from yesterday's workout session. I had ended up staying in the gym longer than necessary, it wasn't like I had anything else to do, the school hadn't officially started for me, no homework or tests or quizzes, thank God.
I got ready, wearing my usual clingy black pants with another one of my shirts, tying up my black hair. I looked in the mirror, shinny green eyes stared right back at me, I found humor in them and smiled at the quote of the day written on my shirt, that Ray would read, and laugh about.
When I walked into the kitchen my eyes went wild, my mother was standing in the kitchen making scrambled eggs. This was odd since my parents always left for work at 6 am and returned at 11 pm. My mother smiled, mentioning for me to sit down, "good morning to you too darling" she looked amused.
I shook my head, I felt embarrassed, damn I forgot to say good morning, I dipped into the eggs, enjoying it with orange juice. "Oh gosh, sorry. Good morning, I just wasn't expecting to see you mom, thought you already left". My mom waved a hand, smiling, "yeah me too, but I'm not feeling good today, caught a cold and my throat is sore, no worries, I thought I'd stay in for today, take care so it would go away
tomorrow".I nodded, eating the last bit of the eggs, getting up I put away the dishes. "Thanks, mom, you should get to bed, I'll be back today at 3. Bye, I would kiss you, but I don't think that's a good idea" I said playfully, happy that my mom was home, but honestly, I couldn't afford to get sick and miss a day of school, not in the first week anyway.
My mom, Suzy smiled "love you baby girl Lucy, have a wonderful day". I left, walking towards Ray's house, I put on my headphones listening to music, I twirled around once in a while, swinging my hips side to side, ignoring the strange looks I was getting from the cars driving by. Today was a good day, and I could feel it, also this song was just too good, I wouldn't be able to stop my body.
I twirled around one more time, pulling my hair tie out and watched as my hair surrounded my face, I giggled, enjoying the full feeling of their softness on my face. When suddenly I hit something hard, a wall possibly, that was strangely warm.
I started falling backwards, I got ready for the cold hard concrete to hit my back when out of nowhere large warm hands came clutching at both of my wrists. Pulling me forward this time, with a jolt I hit the same hard exterior again, my hair in front of my face, stopping me from seeing what was in front of me. My heart rate had picked up, and I was pretty sure the whole neighborhood could hear it, I gasped, the breath knocked out of me, twice in a row. What the hell, or who the hell did I hit anyway?
I shook my head backward, arched my back standing up taller, tempting to get the hair off my face. Thus touching the stranger a bit more, suddenly I realized that I was pressed up tightly against someone, who exercised a lot apparently. My hair flew off my face and for the third time that day my breath cut in my throat as I looked up.
My eyes came in contact with a ridiculously handsome face, with blue colored eyes, black hair, and white teeth showing off in that brilliant smile of his, I felt my cheeks flaming, and found myself lost for words. Somehow I thought him familiar, had I seen him in a movie, was he a movie star because he most definitely looked the part.
I was interrupted by a voice, had he said something, "what?" I shouted unaware that the world outside wasn't as loud as the music in my ears. The stranger suddenly let go of one of my arms, and I felt a bit disappointed, but he reached out and pulled out one of my earbuds, touching the side of my neck and cheek in the process.
Still having that grin splattered on his handsome face. His sculptured mouth opened and I waited in anticipation to hear what he had to say. "Some people just need a high five in the face, with a chair", the handsome boy said in a thick delicious British accent, his voice washing over me. Setting my nerves on fire as his minty breath overwhelmed me.
