No One's POV
Soon after their conversation they both agreed to go pay for their things and leave. There wasn't the comfortable silence as they walked back. It wasn't even silence at this point, it was both of them deep in thought completely forgetting to about a conversation. One glance at them and you wouldn't even know they were friends. They waked apart, the distance between them felt a million times bigger than it actually was.
Even as when they walked side by side in the hallway of the hotel. The small gap between them didn't feel a few inches. It was like they were being engulfed in an abyss of thought while the other slowly blended in with the horizon.
Dead silent. The whole hotel room was dead silent. Not a sound could be heard as they laid down in their separate beds with their backs to each other. Tour could easily go on for years. Combined with the little free time, both of them were scared for what could happen to their friendship.
Their long conversations would be cut down to a few texts once a week. Kenjiro would miss the harmless flirting the other did. Eita would miss the late night texts about random things. Both of them would miss the shopping trips where they would always end up buying one thing. Even if they could afford things they always decided against it knowing the purchase would hurt their pockets.
Although they didn't know exactly how it would all play out, their hopes weren't very high. The small glimmer of hope Kenjiro had was now dubbed down to a speck. A speck so small he barely even knew was there.
Even the following days they spent at the event was filled with forced smiles and awkward conversation. Barely any words were exchanged because it hurt too much to think about the inevitable future.
As they packed their things into their suitcases so they could leave the hotel, it was still silent. A silence so big it was crushing them both. Knowing the two would have to separate wasn't anything new. After all they did live several hours apart. This time though, it all felt different.
A feeling settled so deep in their stomachs from not knowing how it would all play out. Would they have a falling out and stop talking or keep in touch and meet back up when Eita's tour was over. Neither of them knew, all they knew was they would try to keep in touch.
Now they were at the airport waiting for their planes to board. Even their friends noticed the lack of conversation. The two had been inseparable since they arrived and now they wouldn't so much as bat an eye to each other. It was unsettling to say the least that this would be their last in person interaction before the ash blonde went on tour.
Its not like they had a few weeks to spend before he left. They had mere minutes to say their goodbyes. Yet both of them stood with the group in complete silence. Everyone else was participating in the conversation just not those two. Normally they would be throwing insults at each other along with the occasional flirtatious remark.
Everyone around them was slightly uncomfortable with the atmosphere. Not at all did it feel right for the two to not be bickering. Not even when Tendou tried to get them to do something, anything, they kept silent. The several opportunities that were presented to Kenjiro to insult the other was left untouched. Same goes for Eita, the only thing they had going for them was that awful silence.
What would've been a dreadful call that their plane was boarding, felt somewhat wanted. Since Eita and Ushijima lived in a different place than the other four, they didn't join them. Simply watched as their backs were to them. They already said their goodbyes but it was all still silent.
Everything slowed down as Kenjiro stopped walking. He was holding back tears at the fact that he would be leaving Eita without saying a decently good goodbye.
"Shirabu, come on we're gonna miss our flight." Tendou tried to get the other to move as he noticed the whole group had come to a stop. The copperhead didn't listen though.
He turned around and walked back to Eita. His head hung low to not show the displeased look on his face. Each step felt like an eternity as Kenjiro's heart started picking up pace. Barely even noticing what he was doing before he was standing in front of the man he liked to talk to so much. He lifted his head to meet the eyes of the other.
"Can I kiss you?" He more so whispered than anything else. Receiving a nod, he leaned in a connected their lips. A slow and passionate kiss.
It was truly ironic for him. The salty content creator who never found a need to meet new people, was kissing the one person he made an effort to get to know in the middle of an airport. All of it settled in for the two as they pulled away from the kiss.
"I'll be waiting for you." Kenjiro whispered for only the other to hear. A small smile was placed on his face as he walked back to the others. The smile was so small you had to be looking for it to even notice it was there. Regardless, if you did happen to see it you wouldn't miss the sadness that was attached to it. Now his back was faced towards Eita for a second time.
The atmosphere was a lot less tense. The soul crushing silence was replaced with the sound of other people talking. This time it wasn't drowned out by the endless string of thoughts the two were having. Although they both didn't want to leave one another just yet, they were slowly coming to terms with it.
Eita was a little shocked at the other's actions but he didn't mind them. Now he could go on tour knowing the person he liked so much would be waiting for his return.
