He decided to not to let attach himself to anyone.
She was scared of people.

Zara was awoken by gentle knocks on the door of the room. She had barely slept and now someone had to knock on the door of the room. She got up and walked to the door. She was about to open the door but then Ayan's words rang in her ears. He had clearly asked her not to open the door even if anyone knocks. What should she do now? However, she decided to open the door. She slowly unlocked the door and peeped out. She was confused on seeing Ishaan standing there who was giving her a small smile.
"Did I disturb you?"
"No but what are you doing here?"
"I wanted to talk to you."
"Isn't it too late to have a talk?"
"I know. I am sorry for that. But I won't be able to sleep without talking."
Looking at the miserable look on his face, Zara sighed and opened the door, allowing him to enter. Ishaan nodded gratefully and entered the room. Zara simply closed the door but didn't lock it.
"You can sit there."
She pointed at the couch and he nodded before going there. Zara followed him and sat on the couch, keeping a distance from him.
"So what is the point of coming here at this time?"
"I am sorry again for disturbing you at this time. But I just wanted to talk to you."
"Why didn't you wait for the next day?"
"I don't know."
"Fine! Speak up."
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He opened his eyes and looked in her eyes. Suddenly, she felt that she was immobile. She wasn't able to move when his eyes connected with hers. This was the first time that he was looking at her this intensely.
"I just wanted to say that whatever issues we have can be solved. There is nothing which cannot be undone."
She heard him but didn't agree with him. There were some things which could never be undone.
"Ishaan, this is the last time that I'll be listening to you. If I find your reason sensible then I may talk to you again. Otherwise, this might be our last conversation."
Ishaan nodded and looked at her again.
"Zara, I don't know what went wrong. I thought we would be great friends, just like we were in childhood. To be honest, I was expecting our bond just like mine and Ayan's. But I don't even know what went wrong."
"What will you do even after I tell you the reason? Do you think we can be like earlier?"
"I don't know. That would depend on you. But I don't want to live with the guilt that I didn't try to mend our relationship. Zara, you know that I have no one. When Alee Aunty, came in my life, I got you and Ayan as well. I know that you don't have a great bond with Alee Aunty. Trust me, I would never ask you the reason as it's between you and her. But please don't distance yourself from me. I still miss the little Zara who would keep calling me Ish.I don't know whether I am making sense or not but this is all that I had to say."
