I was walking in the school grounds when someone gently bumped on my shoulder. I frowned before looking to see who it was.

"Sorry, thought I'll keep the tradition alive." He smiled sheepishly at me. It's my seatmate.

"So, before we talked, or possibly quarrel about anything, can I get your name?" He asked when he realized that I'm not going to speak first.

"We won't have to quarrel if you just asked for my name and not mention the first part of what you just said." I murmured. I don't know why but I seem to always start a fight when I'm talking to this guy. It's probably because all our interaction led to fights.

"Okay, sorry, can you tell me your name? We're seatmate and all so it would be weird to spend another day without knowing how to address each other." He has a point. It annoyed me how I don't like it. What is wrong with me? I know everything there is to know about me, but this guy always makes me act out of my normal self.

"Evezjar Jairafe" I gave him my name without emphasizing each syllable, the way I always say it so people would know how to pronounce it. I've always had a problem telling people my name. And spelling it for that matter. My sister's natural annoyance of me started with that. She used to rant about how I get a cool name while she gets an old boring "Janett". She started demanding for us to call her Jane then, so we call her that ever since, even though I made it very clear how having my name made my life unnecessarily complicated.

"Eve-aira what?" he asked. I hate that I like making him confused. I'm being childish, dammit. I looked at him and noticed how a confused face suits him. Head slightly tilted on the side, pinkish lips slightly pouting, scrunchy nose, and knitted bushy eyebrows. His light brown wavy hair is messy, and his pale complexion is shining under the morning sun. He's towering over me but with his face, he looks like I just denied him of his favorite candy.

cute...

I got out of my trance when he leaned in and put his face closer to mine. He had to bend down to do that.

"You making fun of me? Whatever. I'll just call you Aira. My name is Alec but you probably heard of me already."

The small smile I had on because of his face earlier vanished when he started lifting his own bangko. Ugh, I almost forgot that the person I'm talking to is the same arrogant man from yesterday. The same man who lowkey threatened a classmate to get his preferred seat. He almost got it if not for our righteous class adviser.

How could I forget that?

Because he's cute and has hazel eyes, Eve.

"Why and what would I possibly hear about you?"

"That I'm a, and is a star." He even shrugged like he didn't just lifted the damn whole furniture shop.

"Sure." Yumuko ako bago binilisan ang paglalakad.

I hate that I couldn't come up with a good comeback.
