letting go

Today was a special day for Taehyung. He was finally going to ask Irene to be his girlfriend but to him, before anything else, he has to go ask permission from a special someone.

He kneeled on the grass with flowers in his hand while his other hand caressing the slightly mossy headstone

"Hi Jisoo, I'm back..." He mutters, "I know, I haven't visited in a while but it's because I had to do some thinking..."

Taehyung smiled as he looked at Jisoo's photo that was plastered on the headstone.

"I'm finally going to ask Irene to be my girlfriend," He said, "She waited two years for me and had never left my side when you left, I'm very thankful for her"

Taehyung sighs, "I know you want me to move on and be happy Jisoo, that's what you said to me back in the hospital..." He chuckled softly as he tried to hold back a tear.

"And you know, I doubted that would happen cause you're the only person that's in my heart," He smiled lightly, "You still are."

"But over the past two years, I've grown to love Irene and I'm happy that she's here"

Taehyung placed the bouquet beside the headstone, "I'm asking her to be mine now but she isn't meant to be a replacement," He wiped the stray tear, "She'll never be your replacement Jisoo, cause I'm not replacing you"

"You will always have a special place in my heart. Always."

"I came here to ask for permission, Jisoo. Am I allowed to ask her to be my girlfriend?"

A strong wind came, dropping a single leaf unto Taehyung's lap.

He laughed, "I'll take that as a yes, yeah? Thank you again, Jisoo..." He smiled as he stood up

"Goodbye, Jisoo, I'll come back again" He bids goodbye as he looked up at the sky

"Irene, can we talk?" Taehyung said as he walked up to Irene

"Of course, did you go to Jisoo yet?" Irene questions with a smile

Taehyung nodded as Irene's smile grew wider.

"Hope she liked the flowers I bought, It doesn't matter though cause next week we're going back and we're gonna change the flowers and replace them with new ones" Irene spoke

"Yeah, of course, But Irene can I ask you something?"

Irene nodded, "Sure, what is it?"

"Will you be my girlfriend?" 

Irene lets out a small laugh, "Of course! Of course, Taehyung!"

They hugged each other tightly, both looking up at the sky

I hope you're happy up there, Jisoo. I'll take care of him I promise. Irene smiles

Taehyung smiled at the sky, Thank you for everything, Jisoo.
