#1 Her Last Day

How many days are left for you to live? Do you know?

Do you know when will you die? Knowing when will be your last day in this world, is it actually a good thing or bad?

And let's say that, today is the last day of your life? How will you spend it?

Go to your favorite place and take lots of pictures to be a remembrance of your last happy moments on earth?

Are you going to eat all your favorite foods in different restaurants and fill your stomach until it says that it can't handle more food anymore?

Are you going to hang out with your friends and take a groupie with them so they will remember you after?

Will you ask your parents for a vacation which is out of town or if possible, out of the country?

Will you do the things that you haven't done since you are not allowed to do so?

Or will you spend it with the one you love?

I am Christopher Chavez. 20 years old. A graduating ComArts student of UP Los Baños. Why am I here? I just want to share my story with you. Or should I say, our story. Me and my long time girl friend, Sarah Jane Lopez.

It's been a year since this story happened. Funny thing, isn't it? It takes me a year to tell this. Tell what just happened one year ago.

I'll start the story with this.

January 4, 2014.

I was so busy with my thesis when I received a text message from Sarah.

Hey, Love! Are you still busy?

I don't know why Sarah has stopped from studying since the start of the second semester. I kept on asking her why but what all she said was...

You know that I am too lazy to study. And what's the use of studying if I will inherit my parents' business, soon?

And I believed her. Yes. She has a point. Sarah is the only daughter of Mr. Lopez, the famous owner of the leading TV station, the ABS-CBN. And yes, sooner or later, Sarah will inherit it.

I texted her back.

Yes, Love. Still busy with my thesis.

The past few days, Sarah was not so clingy which was kinda unusual because she always wanted me to text her and call her and sometimes visit her. But since she stopped attending the school, she had changed a little and it's for the better, I thought, since I was really busy in school.

Okay, then. Finish everything that you have to do. And on January 7, we'll be dating!

That was her message to me that shocked me a little. She asked me for a date? Sarah always wanted me to be the one to ask her for a date. She never did this thing in our entire relationship not until she texted me like this and I have thought that she probably missed me a lot that's why she can't help it.

Sure, Love! I'll fetch you on that day. What time?

That was three days ahead and I was so excited to be with her. I missed her so much.

Naaah. I'll be the one to go in your apartment. Don't bother to fetch me. So, see you after three days! Go on with your thesis! I don't want to bother you. I love you to death!

And I can't help to smile. Silly girl friend of mine. She always do what she wants.

So right then, I finished everything. I made sure that there'll be no more thing to be done on the 7th day of January. I did all my projects. I wrote all the essays that I needed to pass. I have edited my thesis. And my excitement had increased after I assured myself that tomorrow will be my free day. A day to be spent with her. Then my phone rang indicating that someone texted me.
