Behind The Mischief

chapter 9

Loki woke up from a peaceful sleep for once in his life, no nightmares that plagued his mind, no fear of where he was....it was wonderful. but what startled him was the genius that was laid beside him, he was tangled up to the man and felt his breath hitting his cheek which made his cheeks heat up from how close they were

he could see every single detail on his face, especially how calm he looked. tony's leg was over one of Loki's legs and his hand was over Loki's waist while the other was still being held by him, he thought of untangling himself but the fact that stark rarely gets any sleep he decided to just lay there with him until he woke up

the next time Loki wakes up, he's alone on the couch but with soft music playing in the background with tony working on something, hunched over one of his lab desks. he slowly prompted himself up by his elbows and watched tony work

after a few minutes of watching he eventually clears his throat gaining the billionaire's attention, tony gave him a soft smile "mornin lokes, did you sleep well?" "I slept alright" he blushed a little remembering how he woke up and tony noticed

"you sure? why does your face look so red?" he asked and kneeled in front of him placing the back of his palm onto Loki's forehead checking his temperature and then his right cheek, Loki blushed even more with this, hoping a hole will just swallow him from below "i-im fine t-tony" he cursed himself silently for stuttering

"ya sure reindeer games? you know you can tell me anything" those soft eyes made Loki want to spill everything to him, from wanting to kill himself to the torture that happened. everything

"y-yes...thank you.." tony just smiled, knowing that Loki was hiding something but decided not to push it anymore, I mean he did go through the things Loki did, but just not the details...so he knew every single thing about being like this. and he knew for a fact that he wouldn't open up that quickly

"you haven't eaten breakfast and everything right? why don't we go eat brunch" he asked loki with a cute little grin that he would have blushed to again but managed to stop it before he embarrassed himself again and nodded his head but then looked at him quizzically "brunch?" 

"oh you have a lot to learn sweetheart" he swore it just slipped when he said that but decided to keep quiet when he saw a slight blush on Loki's cheek and got up, stretching his hand out for Loki to take to which he gladly took

for once Loki was confused about the 'avengers' behavior, tony stopped when Loki did and stared at the scene in front of them

bucky, clint, sam, and peter were being threatened by mama spider with a wooden spoon while steve, bruce, rhodey, wanda, and Pietro were snickering at them. tony thought of giving Loki a few more minutes to watch his team be stupid dumbasses

"peter! twins! when did you guys get here?" he asked and went to make Loki some breakfast while Loki still stood there 

"hi stark we were jus--t" wanda stopped midway when she saw Loki there but tony didn't notice, back facing them while he was facing the stove making Loki and himself bacon and egg

Wanda's eyes glowed red as she stared at him, the twins don't know what happened cause after the battle they actually left back to their hometown for a short while and just came back. no one remembered that the twins don't know about the healing god, after staring at the 'kids' getting scolded he adverted his eyes to the glowing witch and his eyes widened

suddenly he felt himself back at where it all started, back at his cell. the torture. the pain. the memories, the things he was healing from came back to him. his only fear was that he never wanted to go back, he was terrified of it

wanda was smirking along with her brother, and peter noticed while still being threatened, but it was too late. the damage has been done

"Loki? brunch's ready" at that her head snapped towards him "w-what?" 

"uhm n-nat? I think you should turn around.." she looked questioningly at him at first but then turned around to see wanda gapping at tony and Loki still as a statue with his eyes slightly red from Wanda's powers

her eyes widened "tony!" tony immediately turned around to a horrifying scene. just as he turned around Loki fell to his knees shaking, backing up to the wall. 

"no no no no please no please" his please were heartbreaking, tony glared at the two "wth were you two thinking" he growled at them and steve came beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder

"tony..calm down, Loki needs you.." at that sentence, he calmed down, and his head instantly snapped towards Loki, whimpering and sobbing

he ran towards him and crouched down in front of him "Loki?" he muttered softly, enough for the man to hear him, but Loki was far too gone to hear him

tony just sighed and glared at the maximoff's one last time before pulling Loki onto his lap and sat down against the wall, no one questioned it but was worried. the twins were beyond confused though

Loki tried to fight against the touch but tony shushed him softly "it's alright Loki...you're not there anymore, your safe lokes"  he continued to rub small circles on his back and played with his hair in a comforting way

he felt Loki relax slightly against him, tony told Friday to play some soft music in the background, he was still shaking while tears silently made their way down onto tony's shirt but he didn't complain

"you're okkk...you're okkk" he continued to praise him for calming down which made him finally sag against the man completely "that's right lokes...that's right, it's ok your safe~" he finally calmed down, no more tears pouring out of his eyes like a waterfall

to be honest, it broke tony's heart to see him cry like this "you wanna talk about it?" it still surprised the team how tony was able to comfort someone so effectively with ease

Loki just shook his head "it alright then, we don't have to talk" he hummed out, he swore he felt Loki sigh in relief when he said that

they stayed like that for a little while and the maximoff's knew they were gonna have a lecture on what happened which made them nervous, cause everyone was starting to get protective of the god.
