"what's up"
the blonde shows the recent calls she had missed and runs into the spare bedroom downstairs to call her family back immediately.
"mum! hello! what's wrong? r u okay?"
"sweetie...it's ur dad"
as soon as she hears the words spit from her mother's mouth her heart sinks.
"wha- what wrong with him"
"he's... in hospital. he has cancer darling"
she dropped to her knees shaking and screaming. her brunette boyfriend comes sprinting into the room.
"babe! babe! hey hey look at me!"
the blonde girls looks up with tears streaming from her eyes.
"shh shh it's okay! it's okay! i'm here okay i've got u"
even though the girl had just received the news that was going to change her life for the worst she still felt some sort of warmth whilst her boyfriend held her tightly.
"he has cancer..."
"omg leah i'm so sorry..do u want to go see him?"
"u would do that?"
"ofc i love u more than anything"
leah felt like she was in a movie. surely boys like this didn't actually exist. but they did. and that boy was her boy.
the whole car ride to Camden was cold. the girl felt as though she had already lost her dad. luckily, leah had never lost anyone who she was close to before, except her dads grandad who she met maybe twice.
"i'm just going to call dec. is that okay babe?"
"u do whatever u need leah"
the girl smiles a little and pulls out her phone from the cup holder down the middle of the seats and dials declan's number.
"dec.."
"..."
leah could hear the fear in declan's breathing. they were twins of course.
"hey dec i promise u it will be okay. i'm on my way down to Camden now i'll call when i get there okay?"
"leah..."
"hey i'm here"
she knew this would be hard on declan as dad was his best friend. he got him into his first academy. came to every single home and away game and payed for all of his stuff.
"i can't loose him"
the words that just came out of her brothers mouth broke the blonde into a million pieces. but she had to stay strong for her brother.
"i know dec.. me neither"
"facetime me when ur with him please"
"i will okay"
"thanks leah"

as soon as her twin brother hung up the phone she broke down. she had never seen.. well heard her brother be so lost and terrified.
"he's not doing so well ben"
"who? dec?"
"yeah.. i've never heard him be so heartbroken in his life. this is going to break his heart into a million pieces."
the girls was now balling her eyes out thinking about how abandoned her brother must feel at home. at this point they were only 5 minutes away from the hospital where her dad was staying.
"look at me leah"
ben said before they got out of the car
"u need to stay strong in there for declan, for me, for bailey but most importantly, for ur dad. him seeing u cry will make him feel empty okay. so u need to stay strong for him."
the girl just looked deeply into her parteners hazel brown eyes and smiled in agreement.
"i love u so much. u know that"
"i love u more."
the pair then picked up there bags amd made their way into the hospital.
