repeating what her boyfriend had said to her over and over in her head kept the blonde calm as they walked up to the front desk of the hospital.

"hi. we r here to see Mr J. Rice. i'm his daughter."
"okay! he's just i'm room 26 down the hall"

the women at the desk was extremely kind and pointed up in the direction of room 26 where her dad was resting. the blonde knocked on the door 3 times before twisting the door handle and pushed open the door.

"dad?.."

she walked slowly into the room to see a pale, wrinkly, lost man lay down on the hospital bed fast asleep. that was not her dad. what had cancer done to him.

"hey.."

the blonde slowly and carefully tapped the man on the shoulder trying to get a hold of his attention.

"ben?"

the blonde turned around to see her boyfriend with his hand over his mouth. nearly crying.

"dad."

"dad!"

"dad!!"

"ben! he's not waking up!"

"help!! HELP!!"

a nurse came charing in to the room where the pair were stood. the brunette boy holding his blonde girlfriend tightly in his arms facing her away from her farther.

"you are going to have to leave this room immediately"

a nurse said. so the couple did juts that. they practically sprinted out of the room and into the waiting room.

"he can't be gone.."

the blonde screamed and collapsed to the floor. the brunette boy then also coming to ground level and holding her as tight as he could once again.
three hours passed by of waiting in the hospital lobby, but it felt like a lifetime.  still no news.

"hello? are you to relation of Mr J. Rice?"

the girl jumped out of her seat wiping her eyes.

"yes..yes i am"

"i am so so sorry leah. your farther was pronounced de@d a few minutes ago. the doctors tried everything they could to save him. i'm so sorry"

at this point nothing felt real. the girls vision had gone blurry and she couldn't hear a thing. the memories of the blonde, her twin and her dad playing football in the cow field at the back of their childhood home. all the rainy days they spent playing fifa. even the tesco trips in the dark she claimed she hated.

"can i see him"

the girl looked up emotionlessly.

"of course darling come with me"

"hey dad. i know u can't hear me but i just want to tell u that i made it. i made it for u. me deccers, mase, chilly, tye. we all made it for u. and no one can take the credit except u... u helped us all when we were at our worsts and without u. none of us would be playing football. even madders. i will love u forever dad. everyone will. rest easy"

resting her head on her dads hairy chest the girl took a few deep breaths before looking up at her boyfriend who was in floods of tears.

"be strong"

leah said as she swung her arms around chilly's waist and balled her eyes out too.

"declan.."

"huh?"

"how am i going to tell declan? and my mum? and bailey and tye and mase."

"we will do it togther"
