High above the Earth in the the planet's thermosphere, multiple astronauts hovered around a large satellite conducting repairs. As an astronaut was doing some rewiring by the left solar arrays, one of the others floated over next to him.Terri: Hank.
Hank stopped his work and glanced over to his wife.
Terri: They need you back online. Important.
Hank tapped a button on the touch screen on his wrist, answering the call.
Hank: Henshaw here. What's up?
He stood silent as he listened to the people on the other end of the call. Soon a grim expression grew on his face.
Henshaw: Oh hell.
He said with a slight hint of worry in his voice. He turned to his wife and the other astronauts.
Hank: We got unidentified debris heading our way. Everyone back to the ship. Now!
Without hesitation, they all began to hover back to the ship, docked on the end of the satellite. One by one they entered the ship through the airlock.
Henshaw: We got thirty seconds. You need to fire engines now!
An astronaut strapped himself in and pressed the numerous buttons on the control panel, starting up the engines as the others took their seats.
Astronaut: Tether still attached. Bay doors open twelve degrees.
Henshaw: I don't care! Initiate primary thrusters now.
Henshaw ordered from the front left pilot seat. Terri quickly tapped a few buttons, making the ship roar from within. Henshaw pushed the throttle to it's max, causing fire to erupt from the ships thrusters when suddenly the ship shook violently.
Astronaut: We had an impact!
Henshaw looked up to the satellite above them, and saw the blurs of space derbies tearing threw the satellite like a wet paper towel.
Terri: Oh my God, Hank. We're not going to make it!
Terri said in a worried tone as she looked over to her husband. But despite the situation, Hank had a determined look on his face.
Henshaw: Like hell we're not. Superman will save us.
Another piece of debris tore through the satellite before a massive piece slammed through it, tearing millions of dollars of interstellar technology into two. The shuttle quaked immensely as parts of the satellite crashed on the hull of the ship, along with the space debris.
Henshaw: S-stay calm everyone. He's on his way. I know it.
Henshaw said with a smile, but the fear in his eyes was more than evident.
Terri: Hank, what are you-
Hank: It's okay Terri. You can always count on Superman.
Terri stared at her husband in disbelief. Instead of trying to get them out of the derbies trajectory, he sat in his chair smiling because of a small chance that Superman would come save them.
She looked out the windshield and saw the cluster of space rock and ice hurdling towards them. All she could do was shut her eyes and prepared her self for the inevitable.
BZZZZZZZZZZ
Suddenly a pair of bright red lasers parallel to each other tore through the wave of debris, reducing them to dust.
The astronauts looked in surprise and awe as the lasers kept blasting through the space rocks. Finally, all that was left was the massive asteroid ten times larger than the shuttle. Before the astronauts could react, a red and blue blur darted into it and shatter it to pieces like a bullet shooting through a glass cup.
