ELECTRA DIDN'T THINK SHE LIKED PARTIES. Admittedly this was her first one. But she wasn't enjoying it. She was standing alone leaning against the wall of the Hufflepuff common room. Electra liked the Hufflepuff common room. Admittedly she often found herself feeling out of place there despite Iris having firmly sat next to her on the couch. But this time she didn't even have that. Iris was once again hosting a party of celebration, which she had done a better job planning for. Winnie had raved that this one was somehow even better than the one before. Electra didn't doubt it. It was Iris, after all, she could do anything.

But as already stated Electra was once again alone. It's nice to be alone when you're not surrounded by hoards of people talking and talking. Robin was here. Talking to someone else. Even her dorm-mates were here. Marietta was fluttering her eyelids at some boys. Mandy and Sue were pressed tightly together, Mandy practically in Sue's lap. Electra didn't mind about Mandy and Sue, even though she wanted to talk to them more than Marietta, because she hoped they'd finally get it over with and get together.

Somehow for once, it was Aileen talking to someone else that caused the most pain. She had stood all night mesmerised by the way Aileen looked in the soft glow of the lights of the common room. And now as Aileen smiled shyly up at Cedric, laughing at something he said. Electra couldn't help but think she should have seen this coming. Why didn't she? She knew Aileen liked him. She was pretty sure all of Ravenclaw knew thanks to Marietta's volume. So why did it bother her?

She had a feeling. And Electra knew for sure as Cedric leant down to whisper in Aileen's ear as she blushed. She knew why. So she left.

Electra placed down her cup and slowly removed herself from the party winding her way through the people. She slumped onto the wall in the hallway sliding down it till she hit the floor. Electra bent her knees pulling them to her chest. She rested her head on her knees as she hugged them to herself. Soon tears started to roll down her face and sobs roll through her body. Aileen didn't like her back. Aileen liked Cedric. A lot.

"Are you okay, Miss?" came a squeaky voice from in front of Electra.

Electra jumped slightly looking up to the source of the voice before her. It was a house-elf. But this house-elf was different to every other one Electra had caught a glimpse of. However, that didn't mean they didn't look like a house-elf, before her was definitely a house-elf. But they weren't dressed like one. Upon their head was a tea cosy adorned with badges. Then there was a tie covered in horseshoes without a shirt. A pair of what could have been children's football shorts and a pair of odd socks. One was black and the other was striped with pink and orange.

Electra wiped her eyes, brushing away her tears, "I'm working on it," she nodded in the house-elves direction with a sad smile.

"Is there anything Dobby can do to help?" the elf asked. So that was his name.
