Wilhelmina's POV

We sat at the gate waiting for Mutt's private plane to land and I could tell y/n was panicking.

"Hey," I said and stood next to her, locking her fingers with mine.

"Hi,"

"You're scared again, aren't you?"

"Yeah, worse than coming here,"

"Why?"

"Well if flights from here won't go, that's for a reason, right? What if the storm is too much for the plane?"

She had a point. I didn't know what to say.

"You'll be fine,"

"I'm not worried about myself here, Wilhelmina. I'm worried about you," she whispered.

"It'll all be OK. I doubt Mutt would send us a pilot without experience,"

"I hate flying,"

"I know," I said and pulled her close, watching the empty runway, that was empty for a reason: no one was stupid enough to fly here.

After an hour of staring at the abandoned runway, I got a call from The Idiot Boss Number One

"Hello,"

"Hey we've got a problem,"

I turned down my phone and walked away from y/n so she didn't get any more worked up about a possible issue with the flight.

"Which is?"

"The plane couldn't get through the storm and parked itself in the ocean,"

"What do mean 'Parked itself in the ocean'?" I asked worried.

"The plane fell out of the sky Ms Venable," he stated blankly, "now everyone is safe, but you're stuck in Majorca until after the storm,"

"AND HOW LONG IS THAT GOING TO BE MR NUTTER?!"

"It looks like a week at most,"

"She has dogs,"

"We're getting that sorted, but for now, we need you to stay where you are with y/n and trust that we're trying our best,"

"Well clearly your best isn't good enough,"

"I know! I'm getting you rooms at another hotel and arranging for you to be picked up, but on top of that, I'm also trying to save my pilot, plane and crew, who are currently in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!" And then he hung up.

"They're not coming are they?" Y/n asked as I walked back to the gate.

"No,"

"The plane crashed didn't it?"

"Yes,"

"I hate planes,"

"I know,"

We stayed silent for a while before I looked at y/n and saw her crying.

"Hey, sweetheart, don't cry, please don't cry," I whispered and wiped her tears, "no one got hurt and Mutt's trying to sort us new rooms OK?"

"Can I just stay in your room?"

"Of course you can,"

"What about Rory and Bradley?"

"Mutt said he was sorting it, but he's also trying to save his plane and pilot and crew from the middle of the Pacific Ocean,"

"OK,"

"It'll be OK eventually, darling,"

"Just promise you'll stay with me,"

"I promise," I smiled and wrapped my pinkie around hers and shook.

She kissed me gently as we listened to the rain outside and stood alone in the small airport against a huge window that looked out over empty runways. Pretty romantic to be honest.

After an hour, I fell asleep on y/n, who stayed awake waiting for our lift to come, but it never did.
