harsh lights reflect his face, crimson and cerulean- a perfect mirror of his internal struggles.

the pull of the light. the hold of the dark.

the need he has to prove himself.

but to who?

it's a question he asks himself constantly. he gets lost in it, sometimes, because he truly doesn't know what he's fighting for.

he's not foolish enough to pretend that he doesn't need love. he still imagines a childhood filled with attention and kindness, not neglect and indifference. he still holds deep appreciation for snoke, despite knowing that the sith's motives for him are self-motivated. at least snoke had been there through sleepless nights. at least snoke listened to what he had to say, no matter how much he utilized his vulnerability to his advantage.

deep down, he knows that he's being used. but he'd rather be used and feel loved than be loved and feel useless.

harsh lights reflect on his face, crimson and cerulean-

only the crimson mirrors back.
