GIA POV
As I was packing up Ryan's bag I noticed a crumpled up paper. Taking they paper out I slowly uncrumpled it I read it. My heart sank a little. It was a father and child luncheon. Every Friday at twelve.
Now it makes sense on why he was trying to fake sick last Friday.
"Are you packed up?" Delano asked.
"No not yet" I answered. Ryan came through the door and smiled "mom look what I got?". Smiling at him he noticed I was holding up the paper he was trying to hide.
"Hey where did you find that?" He asked.
I sighed "why didn't you let me know about this?".
He shrugged "why should I? I don't have a dad".
"Ryan that doesn't matter... I could've went with you" I said.
He blinked at me a few times "mom it's for dads... you would be the only mom there. No".
Delano overheard the conversation... "what is it I hear you have a luncheon at your school? How come I wasn't invited?".
"Delano your not my dad. The school will figure it out" Ryan said.
"Now wait a minute... Delano may have a idea. Your dad is white and so is he. I don't see a problem with this at all" I said.
Ryan was unsure but a small smile crept on his face "ok fine".
Delano smiled "great I'll be eating some amazing lunch with Ryan".
Ryan smirked "the lunch isn't that amazing trust me".
"If anything I'll make you both lunch that day so it'll be special" I offered.
Delano smiled "sounds like an idea".

DELANO POV
As I promised Ryan I showed up Friday. Seeing him sitting alone with his head down. I slowly approached the table "hey". He looked up and smiled big "Delano you came!".
Taking a seat across from him "as I said I would. Wouldn't leave you here alone". Looking around the lunchroom you saw all the other children with their fathers. I could only imagine how Ryan felt sitting here waiting to see if I was going to show up or not.
"Your school is big" I said.
He nodded "it is. I love this school".
"That's good to hear" I smiled.
As we were going to eat the food Gia made for us and let me tell you I was excited. A school teacher approached us "excuse me? Are you Ryan's dad".
Ryan was about to say something but I cut him off "yes I am. Can I help you?".
The teacher smiled "I've never met his father I'm so happy to finally meet you".
I smiled "nice to meet you too. Hopefully Ryan is being respectful and making good grades?".
The teacher nodded "Ryan is a sweet boy. Very smart".
Turning to Ryan and smiling "I'm proud you son". He looked a little confused but shrugged and went with it.
When the teacher left the table. Ryan cleared his throat "why did you lie?".
I couldn't answer that question. Can't really explain what made me stand up for him and claim to be his father.

BRIA POV
"Daddy do I have to come along? You know I hate children. They make me cringe" I whined. My dad is a doctor. He tends to go to the schools and do free checkups for some of the poor children who don't have insurance. It's like his way of giving back.
Walking in with him all those kids were running around playing. One of them bumped into me. If looks could kill. The little girl jumped back and ran off.
Rolling my eyes cause my dad should know better that I'm not the one to accompany him to these things.
Wondering off I walked through this school. A very big school at that. Seeing kids in the lunchroom with their dads I sssume. Cute. Hearing a familiar voice I looked over to where it was coming from.
Is that Delano? It better not be?!.
Watching him get up and Ryan walking along with him laughing. What the fuck is going on?
Storming to Delano with my hand on my hip "what the hell is going on here? Are you fostering Ryan now? Are you crazy?!".
Delano looked around "Bria not the place"
"Fuck whatever place we need to be! Why are you here... with him? You're not his father psycho! His father is somewhere doing whatever!" I said.
A teacher quickly came to us "can we not be so loud and also ma'am that is his father!".
Turning my head to her "are you crazy too?! Delano ain't his daddy! I can prove that".
The teacher looked confused "is this true?".
Ryan seemed embarrassed he just ran off. Good for him. How dare he try and trick his teachers!. Delano looked so upset that his cover was blown.
Oh well.
He walked past me.
Following behind him "how dare you!".
He turned around "Bria we are over! I can't do this anymore. You are not the person I want to be with! You are a mean, heartless young woman. What you did there wasn't needed. But you can't see that. I'm done! Make sure you are moved out by the time I get back home or the cops will move you out instead!".
I had a delayed reaction. Did he just break up with me? No he's just mad. I'll let him calm down.
