Strawberry Fields

As I dance my final dance of vitality,
I see the clouds above me opening.
My headphones are playing my favourite songs.
My excitement increases, my heartbeat quickens.
But alas, I am incapable of seeing what is beyond it.
Beyond the universe.

But in our unrestrained world
I find peace in this.
I start to sing the songs.
I see hidden beauty in them.
My one beauty in this broken world.

But this is what makes our lives precious:
a crimson sunset,
a whirlwind of emotions
that one special person.

As I lay in the strawberry fields of my memories,
fireflies surround us
and all I ask for is one final
kiss.
