Ave Maria, and all the other saints
Ave Maria, as it is sung from a nonbeliever's lips, I fear it reaches her not.
to ask for forgiveness, I would surely be mad to think she would accept
for if she truly resided above us, would she even turn her head to listen?
would she even care to listen to the foul words of a man's plea?
Ave Maria, and the King of Kings, and the human God,
am I but another failure in your unseeing eyes?
perhaps it is I is unseeing?
this, I do not know.
Ave Maria, mother of the Lord, mother of mercy
am I a fool to believe that man has taken God's throne?
am I a fool to believe that the throne never had an owner before?
or are my brothers and sisters fools, for believing the throne was always full?
Ave Maria, and all the other saints,
is it too much to ask for when I plead that you take pity, if you prove me wrong?
