Rain

Mikeys pov

"Do you believe in soulmates?" I blurted out while staring at the pretty looking constellations

"Well I do a bit, it's more of a mixture between both fate and luck for the right people to meet. But of course not everyone has soulmates" Kenchin mumbled in a soft voice

"Yeah, I guess you're right. I hope my soulmate is as kind and caring as you are" I smiled to myself.
Having a soulmate sure does sound nice

Someone to watch anime with
Buy me some good food
And to cuddle with, when I feel sad or lonely

My statement was followed by a short silence until he finally decided to speak up
"Oh um yeah. I'm sure you'll be able to find a perfect partner" He said in a low tone with a kind of pained expression

Seeing that I was kind of worried
Did I say something wrong?
"Hey Kenchin is everything oka-"
'drip'
Ah something wet just fell on my face

I looked up at the sky.
Following the first drop, It started to sprinkle down
"Ah crap it's raining, come on Mikey " While I was still getting up he suddenly grabbed my hand and started running
Quickly dragging us to the closest gazebo in the park

Even while running through the rain. I could only focus on one thing, his hands
They were so much more rougher and larger than mine

But holding them was sort of comforting, they fit together kinda like puzzle pieces I used to play with when I was a kid
Holding his hands felt really nice
I hope I get to do this more often

We made it to shelter just in the nick of time
As soon as we got there, the rain started pouring
It began to rain in and splash onto us

It's cold. The wind, the rain and the lack of sunshine sure isn't helping at all
"You good? You're shaking quite violently" Kenchin asked, looking a little concerned

"Y-yeah, of course I'm good. I am  the powerful Mikey after all" I won't let just a little cold weather hurt my pride. Gotta act tough in front of Kenchin, can't let him see me weak. I have to impress him

"pffft, Powerful my ass, says the guy who is literally quivering. Here take my jacket" he joked while covering me with his enormous leather coat

Ah, what a relief it's so warm
It also smells like him
I thought shoving my face in the cozy fabric
We then waited there for a while for the rain to at least get lighter

Wait...
"Hey what about you? You're only wearing a thin T-shirt under there" I can't take this jacket, he's already getting soaked!

"Nah, I'm fine. Otherwise who would take responsibility if you got sick all of a sudden? That would be a huge nuisance" He teased me again

"Oh shut up, why do you have to be so persistent all the time. It's annoying.
Anyways we should go back to my house since it's near by" I said pouting a bit

The rain is definitely not stopping anytime soon
If we stay here any longer it would probably rain even heavier

"Yeah, you're right. It looks like a storm might be coming too. Cover up and follow me" he said adjusting his jacket to cover my head
He then proceeded to run out, back into the rain
