Three days have passed since Kazuha first escaped from Inazuma. 'A lot has happened since then.' he thought. 'I nearly drowned, I got saved by a mysterious lady affiliated with the Crux Fleet, and then met the captain of said fleet.'

At first, he thought that the Crux Fleet crew members would be the most serious people ever. I don't blame him, who wouldn't think so? But as time passed, he was proven terribly wrong. The crew members themselves were... enthusiastic.

At dusk however, it's like a whole other level of loud. Even from his cabin far away from the upper deck, he could hear the boisterous laughter and obnoxious sea shanties. 'I just want to be able to sleep peacefully for one more night. Just one.' he would whisper to himself.

One thing to note about this group is that their bond is like nothing else. Everyone knows almost everything about one another, and they treat each other like family. So, it was no surprise that once word got around that there would be a new addition to the crew out of nowhere, suspicion arised. Some of the crew members were completely against the idea, complaining that Beidou was being irrational. Y/N was quick to reprimand them, and he was immensely grateful for it. The other crew members immediately welcomed him, ruffling his hair and giving him a nickname, "Kaedehara Kid."

As it was officially his first day on duty, Captain Beidou and her secretary (?), Y/N, gave him a simple job on the watchtower; to alert them for any incoming danger.

Kazuha found himself becoming awfully disinterested since there's really nothing to do. The only thing he could do was study the ocean waves as they roll up and over, intertwining with each other before levelling out, only to start the whole process again. To think that something so beautiful could be so deadly...

Suddenly, a spark of inspiration ignited within him. He brought out a spare piece of parchment, and before he knew it, a fully written haiku was in his hands. It read:

Fine, soft grains of sand
Ocean breeze wafts the sea's scent
As the sun breaks through

(5, 7, 5 haiku. credit: jason a. muckley)

His eyes glossed over the paper, before tucking it away into his pocket. As he gazed over the ocean, something caught his eye. There was a change in the winds as he caught sight of the thing. His eyes widened in panic and he nearly flung himself over the edge in surprise.

Vaulting over the crow's nest and sliding down down the mast, he was running, making a beeline for Beidou's office.

As he was about to knock on the door, a voice called out.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

Turning around, he came face to face with the same lady that saved him before. You.

"Beidou is doing something important at the moment. What's the matter? I'll report it to her for you," you said. Kazuha looked at you with uncertainty, before telling you what he saw.

"I... I saw something in the ocean." Kazuha whispered. "It was monstrous. It had a snake-like body and glowing eyes that almost burned right through you."

Your eyes narrowed in recognition and you sighed, clearly unhappy with the fact that you had to go deal with this situation again.

"Alright, let's go." You said. Kazuha did a double take at this.

"Me? Why?" He questioned.

"You can wield the sword, no?" You clicked your tongue in irritation. "Come on, we haven't got all day."

Kazuha found himself wondering just how you knew that, but there was no time to think about it further.

With confident strides, you found yourself at the end of the ship, the platinum blonde-haired boy trailing behind you.

Opening up your parasol, you beckoned Kazuha towards you, and told him to be as silent as he could. Grabbing him by the wrist, you walked off the edge of the ship, seeming like you were both going to fall to your deaths.

"Close your eyes."

Before he knew it, the both of you were directly confronting the monster. Its eyes held a deep hatred within them, glowing an ever-burning azure.

Forcefully tearing his eyes away from the creature, he glanced at you. You had a deep frown etched into your face, but it softened upon meeting his eyes.

Closing your parasol, you glared up at the monster.

"Long time no see...

...Beisht."
