Chapter sixteen : daredevil

MAIA'S POV : I walk back into the party practically fuming how dare he say that, I decided to look for Mariana as all I want to do right now is go home, I spot her close to the bar in deep conversation with a guy, I tugged her aside
"Maia what's wrong? " she asked me looking concerned as she examined me from head to toe.
"I'm fine Mari a little pissed but fine, I just want to go home ". She didn't look too happy but she nodded and went to go get her keys, but before she left she turned to me
"Darling stay out of Jess's way she's a bit intense and I don't want you getting into any trouble. "She waited till I nodded before she continued looking for the keys, I was standing and waiting for her when Jess stood on a table and started yelling at people to gather around.
"Hey everyone over here let's gather around and have a little fun, we're about to play truth or dare" everyone starts cheering, Mariana comes and we start moving towards the door.
"Hey hey hey where do both of you think you're going? "Jess asked all the while looking straight at me.
"We're going home Maia is a little tired. "
"No no no that wouldn't do you have to stay for the game it'll be.... Fun". The way she says fun makes me feel extremely uneasy but I stiffen my spine if she's a bully then I have to show her that I'm not scared of her.
"I don't want to have fun, you can all carry on good night. "She's glaring daggers at me but I just glare right back.
"Ohhhhhh the virgin's too scared and uptight to have a little fun is she awwn that's so sad. "I know she's just trying to bait me but I am not interested in any of this nonsense.
"Fine then let's play.. " she smirks maliciously, her stupid friends giggling behind her, I roll my eyes, Mariana pulls me aside.
"Look mi querida that girl is nothing but trouble don't step on her toes and no matter what don't choose truth ever got it? "I nod quickly and we both go and join the circle she spins the bottle and it goes round and round till finally it lands on...... Me?, Jess starts laughing
"Well what are the odds okay little red riding hood truth or dare? " her nicknames are getting on my nerves "I choose dare".
"Awwn scared of a little truth are we?, no problem anyway I dare you to kiss Jackson over there. " I turn in the direction of the guy and he's huge and drunk very very drunk.
"I can't kiss him he's disgusting. " people around started snickering and laughing .
"Quit whining princess you have a kiss him"
"Or what? " I asked staring her straight in the eyes.
"Oh you don't want to try me do you dare and let's get this over with. "I stand up immediately and Mariana stands as well
"I'm leaving I dare you to stop me. "I turn to go but the drunk fool grabs hold of me
"Where are you going pretty girl you owe me a kiss. "He drags me closer I try to push him away but he's holding my arms really tightly.
"Let go of me you disgusting mutt don't touch me. "
"But you're so beautiful come on kiss me.. "

SAMUEL'S POV ; After making sure that the idiot had been thrown out of my club I walked back to the party with nico just to see some idiot with his filthy hands all over Maia, Mariana pounding on his back and Jess laughing her, how dare he touch her, without thinking twice I ran to the idiot and tore him off her and punched him hard over and over and over till he was bleeding out of his ears and my fists felt raw.
"Everybody get out this party is over out now!! "I angrily grab hold of Maia and Mariana and turn to leave but before I leave I turn to Jess
"As for you we need to have a chat. "

SAMUEL'S POV : I grabbed hold of both Maia and Mariana and drag them straight to the car, I opened the passenger's seat and let Maia in she's still more than a little tipsy so she lands without much grace, I don't bother opening the door for Mariana knowing she can handle herself,  she mumbles rude but I heard her loud nd clear I can't seem  to be able to think past the anger , I brought my Bugatti divo, one of my favorite cars, I reeve up the engine and drive out of the drive way, Maia isn't making things any better she keeps having these adorable bouts of hiccups and giggles right after, making her look even more beautiful, the innocence radiating off her is quite intoxicating, Mariana starts laughing I turn to her furiously
"And what exactly Is so funny would you mind sharing dear cousin "she giggles again
" my since you asked so nicely I just find it funny that you are sooo angry yet you still have time to be ogling my best friend isn't that funny". Maia stopped laughing at this point and started looking at me,  I glared darkly at  Mariana
"Funny?  You consider this funny? What the hell were you thinking bringing your virgin friend to a party like this, I was even contemplating allowing you to come and you bring her? She can't even handle a little martini -"I was rudely interrupted by an unlady like snort from her, then she started shouting
"Oh shut up you,  I'm not drunk and whose fault is it that your girlfriend is a asshole,  you are not my guardian so you have no right to tell me where I can and can't go. " The more she spoke the more I felt myself getting even more aroused damn she looked incredibly sexy when she was this angry,  I didn't even know I was giving her a once over her gaze lingering on her cleavage, she followed my her cheeks becoming extremely red, she's  blushing, she angrily snaps at me
"Hey mister eyes up her okay, pervert"I felt anger overcoming me anger at myself and at her for making me  feel like an idiot she's going to have to shut up pretty soon
"You're calling me a pervert, well it's not my fault you dressed up like a a hussy, displaying your assets all out there. "She didn't talk just stared at me wide eyed, Mariana gasped.
"Now you've done it Samuel Lorenzo San Gorgorio you will watch your tone when talking to a lady much less my friend and you will apologize to her right now. ",  I bowed my head knowing she was right I was out of line there
"I'm sorry Maia forgive me for speaking thoughtlessly I'm sorry. "Maia's expression didn't changed she still stared at me blankly, Mariana put her hand on her shoulder,  she shrugged it off and turned to the window. Mariana wanted to say something but she was interrupted by her phone, she immediately answered it.
"Hi Lucas, what's wrong? " her facial expression changed rapidly and she wore a deep frown on her face she continued the conversation in rapid Italian which is not my favorite language so it is a little hard to follow, few minutes later she ends the call.
"Umm primo something is wrong with my mom  so I need you to drop me off at my place first then drop Maia. "Maia turned to look at her but didn't say a word , since I was driving so fast we got to Mariana's house in no time at all. She got down and gave Maia a peck.
"Primo please behave don't upset her she fa be a little emotional when she's tipsy. "She whispered to me I nodded barely and immediately took off. We were on a lonely road and it was a bit chilly she still hadn't said a word not wanting to be rude I tried to start up a conversation.
"Maia are you awake?  Aren't you feeling cold? "She looked at me with her most uninterested face as if just the sound of my voice was reducing her life span, how dare she?
"Can you please not talk to me right now,  I'm not in the mood for fake conversations so keep your pleasantries to yourself. "
"Well excuse me for trying to make an attempt at being friendly. "
"I don't need your pathetic attempts of politeness if h wanted to be friendly calling me a prostitute wouldn't be a good strategy. "
"Why are you such a brat?  I apologized you called me a pervert why would I even be interested in someone like you can you seen my girlfriend? ", she smirked and rolled her eyes making her look even more snobbish,  it annoyed me immensely I always make girls swoon she can't be indifferent towards me I won't allow it
"Yes of course i have met her you are both equally perverted and disgusting? "
"Disgusting are we? Let me guess you're the saint, at least we weren't practically putting her body up for everyone's entertainment and enjoying that swine's touch. "I turned to look at her and what I saw almost robbed me of my breath, her eyes were brimming with tears and her lips were quivering but what struck my conscience was the look of raw her playing on her face. I started to apologize but she put a hand up
"Stop the car I want to get off right now. "
"Maia calm down I can't drop you here we're in the middle of nowhere stop being so stupid. " she glared angrily at me
"I said stop the car and let me get off right now. "I turned and faced the window having every intention of ignoring her, at this point I'm driving slowly hoping the motion would put her to sleep. what  She did next almost gave me a heart attack,  she opened the door and jumped out of the car. I immediately hit the breaks
