chapter two : caught in the act..... well almost

ARTURO'S POV: I hoisted Alexander in my arms and headed for the door , I'm going to find out what's going on today one way or another. by the time we got out Sonya had just left the premises ,I entered my car and put Alex in his booster seat,I buckled my seat belt and ignited the engine
"Daddy whewe are we going."I smiled at his pronunciation and how curious he always is I contemplated taking him back and dropping him at our neighbor's house but it was too late for that.
"We're going out for a long drive okay now don't make noise and play with your car okay?"
"Okay Daddy."I spotted Sonya car I took a right as well where is she going why is she acting this way I mean I just can't understand,but I hope for her sake and mine that she's not doing what I think she's doing
"Daddy wook wook it's mummy car front mommy car."
"Calm down champ I see her too."
"Owkay but does it mean daddy go to mommy."
"No no no we're not going to meet up with mommy now I'm driving no talking okay."
"Okay Daddy Alex no talk ."Sonya's car came to a stop at the front of a hotel she parks her car in the parking lot I do the same thing but just further away so she won't get suspicious,I carried Alex and hurriedly looked for Sonya I spotted her talking to the receptionist and heading towards the hall way ,I instantly hurried there
"Good evening ma'am I need to know what room that lady just went to."
" I'm sorry sir that's confidential information I can't tell you that ,"
"Do you have any idea who I am I'm giving you exactly three seconds to tell me where she went or you can say goodbye to your job."I felt bad when I saw her tremble but I have to find out where Sonya's been going .the manager came out of his office when he heard the commotion,
"What's going......oh my God Mr san gorgorio what's the problem sir,"
"Manager do you know him?"the timid receptionist asked
"Know him?this man owns this hotel ."
Oh my God I'm so sorry sir I had no idea ."
"Enough with the apologies tell me what I need to know right now."she checked her system
"She went to room 279 that's on the .."
"Fifth floor I know."I dragged Alexander with me and headed to the elevator , Immediately the elevator opened I saw Sonya going down the hall.
"Mummy!!"Alexander shouted and I used my hand to cover his mouth.
"Alex hush don't say a word ."Sonya hadn't turned back so I assumed that she didn't hear it.
SONYA'S POV:dammit that idiot followed me what do I do now ,I pretended to not hear Alexander call out to me ,I entered the closest room I could see ,and he followed me Inside and hid behind a wall , i sighed did he really think that I wouldn't see him seriously did he think that I am some kind of idiot , I saw an old man sitting on his bed and I started talking to him , Arturo saw it and went away ,I let out a breath of relief and turned to the very surprised old man
"Well sir I'm .. I'm ... I'm sorry for the inconveniences I just needed to do that excuse me."with that I left the room

ARTURO'S POV:
"I don't understand this doesn't make sense."
What doesn't make sense daddy ."I realized that I said that out loud
"Nothing sweetie , it's absolutely nothing."
"But..but then why was she acting so strange why didn't she just tell me that she was going to see him."
"Daddy who awre you talking about?"
"Don't listen to me okay I not talking about anything."he didn't say a word he just continued playing with his train, something doesn't add up and I'm sure of it

AT THE SAN GORGORIO RESIDENCE
ARTURO'S POV:. I drove back home even more confused than I was when I left ,if she's not hiding anything then why did she lie to me it was unnecessary and uncalled for ,I pulled over and came out of the car carrying Alexander who's now asleep,I unlocked the door and took him to his room,
"Arturo where have you been?"I looked up to find her glaring at me seriously what did I do did she think that I didn't see her
"Sonya you are asking the wrong question here I really hope you know that,I should be asking you that question."
"I-i I went to see papà okay he's not doing too well."she still has the nerve to lie to me seriously
"Sonya that's a bloody lie and you know it."I said more like growled through clenched teeth.
"And how exactly do you know that Arturo."damnit I knew it she saw me she's just trying to rile me up so I'll come clean.
"Answer me Arturo how do know that ."
"I followed you okay are you happy now I followed you and that man was not papà I dropped papa off last week he's in France."she slumped on the chair she only does that when she's fed up but I'm also fed up with all this suspense and secrecy
"Arturo what's wrong with you seriously this is too much Arturo too much are you an animal ,you had the audacity to follow me ,your jealous is really getting out of hand ,and you brought Alex why drag him into this ,why do you doubt me so damn much , we've been married for 6 years so what's the problem now? We have a four year old son and you still doubt me"I didn't know what to say she's right but what does she expect me to do
"Sonya what do you expect me to do I love you so much and point of correction it's not my jealous I'm worried about you ,you leave for a long time don't tell me where you're going to and come back exhausted you neglect our son and then go shopping what do you expect me to think?"
"What happened to trust Arturo ,and weren't you the one that said I should stop working ,and what's wrong with shopping ?"
"Nothing is wrong with shopping,and I didn't stop you from working permanently I just said till Alex is old enough and you never mentioned anything about missing your work?"
"Arturo you are not poor you are a freaking BILLIONAIRE DAMNIT!!!"
"It's not about the money Sonya "I said trying to calm her down I don't even know how this conversation got here
"If it's not the money then what's your problem Arturo what's the problem?"
"I miss you ,we miss you ,me and Alex and I don't understand why you keep on lying to me over and over again you are evading the topic Sonya I know you ,but I'm not letting it go this time we are talking about this and I demand an explanation ."I saw her eyes water and I know she's about to go emotional on me after 6 years of marriage I know almost every trick in the book.
"Look Arturo baby I understand that you worry about me but I'm fine and I'm definitely not cheating on so  stop with the questions this isn't an interrogation , Arturo I'm yours I don't understand why you just can't trust me "I almost fell for it when I heard her voice croak a bit,I softened my voice
"Sonya it's not that I don't trust you I just want the truth is that so much to ask for ,and stop playing the victim it doesn't suit you,just tell me simply who's the man that you went to see."
" You-you don't know him he's candella's father's brother ."
"Her uncle huh and what exactly is your business with her candella's Uncle?"
"Arturo don't be rude she told me he's sick so I went to check on him is there something wrong with that?"
"No there's nothing wrong with that but is that where you've been going the past few days,and if that's where you've been going then why didn't you just tell me, why did you lie ?"
"I still can't believe you dragged Alex into this".I groaned in frustration this conversation isn't going anywhere she's just lying to me.
"Sonya stop trying to change the topic ."
"Arturo I'm done with this conversation think whatever you want believe whatever you want to believe act on whatever you want to act on I am done."immediately after her phone rang.
"Now since you don't have anything important to say to me I have to take this call now please excuse me."

SONYA'S POV:that was a very close call he almost caught me if Alssandro hadn't called I would have been done for ,I answered the phone
"Hi baby how are you ?"
"I've been waiting for you at the hotel I didn't see you aren't you coming?"
"Arturo followed me I had to do something before he caught me."
"That son of a ...how did that happen I thought you said you have him under control this isn't under control ."
"He's getting suspicious of me so I think it'll be best if you stay away for a while."
"No problem I understand how did you manage?"
"I entered an old man's room and pretended to be taking care of him."I smirked proudly at myself
"Aren't you a smart ass,you are so sexy you know?, I'm sorry that you had to go through all that because of that piece of shit that doesn't understand how to treat a queen ."
"And that's why I have you to do that for me I love you okay and I'll make it up to you ."
"Of course you will I'm not letting you off the hook."he hung up I smiled , Arturo can't find out about this I love him a lot but he isn't enough I need more and I'm going to have to get it from someone else.

AVA'S POV: After an excruciatingly long flight ,I have cramps everywhere and I still have so much to do here , Maia had fallen asleep two hours ago and we are preparing to land I texted thattiana so she's probably already at the airport waiting for us ,I took a deep breath LA is truly a beautiful place though I still can't shake the feeling that something insane is going to happen here this city will change my life both for bad and for good,I shook the thought out of my head I came here to work and after that I'm going back home ,I was slipping in and out of consciousness ,I felt extremely drowsy .....soon after I woke up when the plane started descending she put on her oxygen mask and woke Maia so that she'd put hers on as well,after what felt like hours the plane finally landed ,I really really hate flying ,I spotted thattiana and she seemed to notice me as well she literally ran into my arms and I hugged her back ,
"Oh my-oh- I can't believe it you're here you are I've missed you so much Ava we have so much catching up to do ,oh hello Maia."she pulls away and gives Maia a kiss on her cheek
"Hey thattie it's so nice to see you after so long I would love to stay and chat but you know how cranky I can get when I haven't had my goodnight sleep .my phone vibrates in my pocket
"Oh excuse me guys I need to take this ."it's my secretary egnasio
"Hey egnasio good morning ,I thought you said that we'll talk when I'm settled in."
"Yes ma'am I remember saying that but there's an emergency and I thought I should be the first to inform you."fear slowly crept in my heart, egnasio isn't one to raise an alarm if something isn't truly happening
"Egnasio you're scaring me what's going on?"
"Well ma'am I told you about our financial situation ,but everything I said was an understatement ,the company is almost bankrupt and because of that the Gorgorio group of industries want to buy our company."
"What do you mean they want to buy our company I don't remember selling my company in the first place."
"Look ma'am like I said this isn't something to be discussed over the phone it's more of a face to face conversation ."
"Why didn't you tell me this sooner!!! Do you know how big a deal this is do you know I can lose my company and you call it an understatement."
"Forgive me ma'am I wanted to tell you but had barely arrived I couldn't burden you with such adverse news at the moment."
"Fine then I'll need the financial statement of the company I need all the information I can get and I need it ASAP or believe me you won't have a job anymore , I'll be in the office in a few days."
"Boss the CEO of that company wants to "meet with you and discuss the plans" he said and I quote so you just have to set a date and time that works for you and I'll let him know ."
"I'll think about that when I get settled in I'll let you know my decision when I come to the company oh and we'll be holding a board meeting that day as well so we can tackle the matter at hand ."
"Yes ma'am I'll make arrangements for that in no time we're glad to have you here ma'am and I can promise you that we'll be at your service ready to comply ."I laughed at his tone he made me seem like I was a scary horrible person but this is business I can't be casual but I don't like the idea of people fearing me
"I look forward to working with all of you as well ,I promise we'll get through this and I'll show that man that we don't need his company's money or anything in fact."
"Well said boss , I'll go gather the information you requested for , I'm really sorry for ruining your peaceful evening."
"Oh don't worry I think I knew that my life would be far from peaceful here."
