Flashback Part 1

1st Person Perspective

flashback start

The night, fell as we waited behind the bushes. We were ready, our task was to capture them. I smirked behind my devilish mask as I waited for the signal.

My spear was hidden behind me as I peeked through the bushes at the village. Indarias kneeled next to me, silencing his clothes as they brushed against the bushes. Our eyes were pierced by the setting sun, as soon as the sun was completely eaten away by darkness.

That's when we would strike. We picked up our weapons and then we charged. Leaping into the air, I held my spear up high before dashing forward and over the fence. Seeing from above how peaceful this village was, I knew we were going to enjoy this. Creating ruckus and mess before, Menogias and Bonanus had created an overload with their pyro and electro.

The fire started to rage causing everyone to wake up and run out of their houses. The screams of men and women deafened my ears but I ignored them. They were weak to think they could hide just such a child away from us, but where was it? Where was the child? I searched around the boxes while the rest pushed back their defences. There were no signs of elemental traces anywhere. I rushed to every house and sliced people in half if they were in my way. There was a house that was untouched by any reactions.

What a shitty job they did.

Storming into a house, I searched the rooms and found a woman and child hiding and cuddling up against one and another. I growled impatiently through my mask and gripped my spear tightly.

As much as I wanted to kill them right then and there out of anger, I didn't but that didn't mean I was going to be forceful.

"Where's the child?"

The mother and child only shook even more. No words could be said from either of the two but instead, tears dripped down their eyes as the flames burned bright from outside the square window.

I stood there silently for a moment and inspected their expressions. They were fearful no doubt yet they didn't seem to be hiding anything so I left in a breeze.

Leaping onto the rooftop I got onto one knee and groaned out in pain. My energy was draining my strength as I looked over to see Bosacius landing next to me. His mask, still hiding his identity just like you and his sword dripping with blood.

"You alright?"

He asked in his normal tone as he stood over me. All I did was nod in response before watching him leap away to invade another house. The flames from around me were the only thing that made a sound. Perhaps the people inside were now dead.
