It was early in the morning, the morning dew was in the air. Inhaling a deep crisp breath in as you stepped out of the hotel door, it was mostly silent except for the hustling of shop tenders unlocking their shops.

Scaramouche stepped out after you, positioning his hat back on head to cover his messy bed hair.

As you continued to walk with Scaramouche, chatting cheerfully, you couldn't help but withstand stares from bystanders shooting the back of your head.

Your breath tightened, your shoulders slouched slowly as the streets of the location you once called home, started to populate with people.

As people passed by you could partially hear murmurs from people walking by.

"Isn't that Y/N,"

"What a copycat,"

"Can't believe they are still showing their face in these areas,"

"I wonder if Aether knows,"

Scaramouche noticed your behaviour and heard what people had said, resulting in him pushing you to the side in an isolated alley wall.

He clutched you firmly by your shoulders as you didn't make eye contact with him.

Too many thoughts were flushing through your head. did the people of Liyue despise you now?

Believe that you were just a mere copy of the well known Traveller?

They knew that you wielded more than one vision?

Hatred boiled in your blood as you comprehended that there was only one individual that could have influenced all these rumours.

Aether.

Scaramouche had looked at you not knowing what to do as you were frozen with such a complex facial expression.

It felt like you had been in that position with Scaramouche for what seemed like minutes, till surprisingly he pulled you in for a warm, soothing hug.

Your heart strings ached, not from Aether or his doings, your heart agonised from how much this man had made you feel.

As you loosened, you furrowed eyebrows as you hesitantly raised your arms up to his back, embracing him back.

Breathing slowly calming down back to normal, he didn't let go of you instead he tugged onto you even tighter, you didn't mind.

In fact you enjoyed the attention and warmth he gave you.

A couple of minutes later he broke from the hug and brushed your hair away from your face, tucking it behind your ear.

"Are you ok?"
