It was a beautiful day at Liyue. The water glistened brightly under the blazing hot sun while people buzzed around the stores bargaining for better prices on their daily groceries.
Children happily ran up and down the busy streets of Liyue with their kites, their smiles widening as they saw you walk past. They wave at you enthusiastically and dashed merrily towards you.
"Hi [Y/N]! Are you going to play with us today?" Little Fei inquired while grabbing tight on her kite,
"Yeah! Come play with us, we're going to play pirates later!" Little Lulu and Little Mei both begged as they tugged on your sleeves.
You smiled gently at them not wanting to break their excitement. Their eyes shone just as bright as the sunshine, perhaps even brighter.
You patted Little Lulu and Little Mei gently on their heads and they released their grip.
"Sorry, but [Y/N] can't play with you today," a lower voice interrupted from behind,
You turned around to see Aether walking to you while he was braiding his long blonde hair, with his iconic floating travel buddy, Paimon.
He stood next to you and placed his elbow on your shoulder and waved at the three children,
"Awe, why can't [Y/N] play with us today?" they whined in unison,
"They have important adult business with me," Aether explained while giving you a subtle wink, "They're like my business buddy,"
"For the love of Rex Lapis, why are you such a flirt," you muttered under your breath,
You punched him lightly on the shoulder and smiled with a slight grimace.
He retracted his arm off your shoulder and just smirked with overwhelming cheekiness.
"Like Aether said, I can't play with you guys today. I can play with you three tomorrow! How does that sound?" you offered,
"Hmmmmm, ok!" Little Fei chirped,
"Have fun doing adult business with Aether then!" Little Lulu said as she held onto Little Fei's hand, "Come on guys let's go fly our kites again,"
They turned their backs towards you and happily skipped away.
With their silhouette shrinking, you choked on your saliva as the innocent words left Little Lulu's mouth.
You stared at Aether with embarrassment, but his face was only filled with bold laughter.
Paimon was also laughing along with Aether, even Paimon found the situation funny.
"Aether, please do not say "adult business" in that way ever again. I can't take you seriously," you muttered as you started to walk slowly towards the stairs that lead to Katheryn.
