If there's one thing I know for sure
It's that
No matter what you do
No matter how hard you try
No matter how much you lie to yourself
Things will change
People will leave
Others will grow
And some just slip away
Sometimes, it happens in the blink of an eye
And you don't understand why
Things couldn't have stayed awhile longer
Sometimes, it happens so slowly,
You realise, years after
That you've been ignorant of the change
For so long
And you never saw it coming
Change
It can be so beautiful
Guiding you through life
Moving from one chapter to the next
You can't wait for it
But it can be so cruel
It can end chapters
You wish were forever lasting
It can take away
What should have been eternal
And it can cut into you
Til you bend and break to it's will
People come and go
Doors open and close
Life is constant motion
Always changing
Never lasting
You can't change this fact
Because the person you are now
Right now
Well
Even they won't last
