You need only to turn around

Someone who'll take you in

You need only to appear on my doorstep
Because for you
I've reserved that one spare bedroom
With the bed already made
If ever you need a stranger
Someone uninvolved
That will remind you there are another 7 billion people out there
You need only to ask me
Because for you
I've memorized
The number of people living today
If ever you need a protector
Someone to hold you tight
And tell you it'll be okay
You need only to grab my hand
Because for you
I'd hold on' and keep on holding
Until I knew you could fly
If ever you need someone
Someone to understand
To feel the pains of the heart
