"You do not deserve me."

I pushed T'Nira off once again, and she stumbled backward.

"Your affection blinds you. Doing what the Code commands is more essential than bonding. Now tell me, what did you do?"

She cocked a hip, and clicked amusingly.

"I told you I would do anything for your love, and that did not stop me from killing those foolish enough to get in my way," she said in a 'isn't it obvious' sort of tone.

My fists clenched in fury.

"Think of all those innocent lives, T'Nira, why would you do such a thi-" I was interrupted as she tackled me again, and I fell to the ground.

"But think of your childhood, my love."

She had touched a nerve.

"We do not speak of my childhood, by the order of the Elder Council!!" I roared. I fully unsheathed my wrist blades and swung with all my might, vowing to get back at her with pure rage.

However, I used so much power I missed and the blades slashed my chest. Blood spurted everywhere, and looking around, T'Nira was nowhere to be seen.

"I will see you soon, my mate," her echoing voice sounded from all around. Then silence.

I woke up a few hours later, the sun gently shining on the alleyway of our battle. My blood shimmered in the rays' light in a few areas. I looked down to the wound, and my mask alerted me to receive medical attention right away, or I would bleed to death shortly.

Expanding my combistick and leaning on it for support, I manage to pull myself off the hard ground.

It was painful to move. I thought about calling my ship, to me but realized Sahmata would panic and might hurt herself.

I limped my way through the dimly lit streets of the human city to the clearing where my ship was tucked away in a nearby forest, cloaked. Using my wrist computer, I uncloaked it and the boarding ramp lowered with a hiss.
