"pastor Miller Blind As A bat
tried to read the bible
but his eyes went splat"the villagers watched in amusement as their children sang happily, teasing and laughing with their pastor.
isaiah walker was one of them, he stood near the well, helping the women of the village fill their buckets, his eyes would occasionally drift to the redhead in the middle of the circle, singing happily with the kids around her.
"a penny for your thoughts!" a voice startled him out of his thoughts, his head whipped to look at the owner of the voice, his eyes meeting those of his older sister, eden, she was smiling at him, holding out her own bucket.
he rolled his eyes but took it nonetheless, turning to steal a glance at the girl, only to find her with her sister, abigail, both of them talking to Sarah fier.
he filled up the bucket in his hand, completely oblivious to the man making his way towards them.
"good afternoon" isaac kalivoda smiled warmly at the girl, patting his face dry from the sweat with the back of his hand.
"good afternoon" the girl responded, offering him a handkerchief for his face, he gladly took with a smile, his fingers brushing with hers softly.
"the full moon rises before the nightfall" he smirked subtly at her, hiding his face with the piece of cloth.
"a good night to enjoy the fruits of the land" she mirrorred his expression, her face turning neutral as her brother turned back to her, handing her the bucket again, seemingly just realising that isaac was there "isaac" he nodded to him.
"isaiah" the man nodded back, placing the kerchief in his pocket, he bid the two goodbye, walking off to resume his work.
"so, you and isaac?" isaiah raised an eyebrow at his older sister, placing his elbow on top of her head, snorting as he looked at the glare on her face.
eden pushed his arm off, smiling as he pretended to stumble "I have no idea what you are talking about, brother" she turned her nose up, walking away from her brother, ignoring his snickering that followed her as she strutted back to her home.
isaiah smiled at her retreating figure, he turned around and his smile fell slightly, his body froze as he saw Constance berman make her way towards him, a frown etched into her beautiful face.
he felt his face flush as their eyes met, a soft smile making it's way into her lips as she neared him.
he smiled like an idiot as he watched her come closer "good afternoon miss. berman" he bowed slightly, reaching out to take her bucket.
"why, always the gentleman, isaiah" she faked a posh accent, holding her dress and bowing to him, barely hiding her smile.
"why the long face earlier?" he inquired, filling the bucket slower than usual, even if Constance noticed, she didn't call him out, enjoying what little time they could share together with no fear of judgement from the older residents of their village.
"just abigail being abigail, she refused to let me go to the fire" she explained, her eyes lingering on his hands, watching the veins the appeared under his pale skin.
he grunted as he pulled the bucket up again "the fire is really not that special, red. trust me, been there, it's just a bunch of horny people going at it like rabbits" he shuddered as he remembered the time he stumbled upon mad thoman and abigail berman during an intimate moment, that scene was, for sure, forever engraved in his mind.
"you went there?" her eyes widened as he nodded "how come you can go but I can't?" she crossed her arms, a small pout coming over her lips, he smiled and felt the urge to kiss it away-
