It was time for the finals. Kirishima against Todoroki. If it weren't for his encounter with Kacchan and All Might not too long ago, he would've been vibrating with excitement. (He sort of still was, but it was dampened by the encounter at the very least.)

Still though, it was very exciting, even if he didn't want to chose who too route for this time around. He didn't have to route for anyone, though. He could just watch.

But then, as soon as Midnight called the start of the match, Todoroki turned to face the edge of the areana, and very purposfully walked out of it. "I surrender." Todoroki said, his voice echoing out upon the suddenly silent stadium. The silence was full of shock, confusion, disappointment, and in the case of Endeavour, rage.

The silence was so heavy, that they could easily hear what Todoroki said next, "I don't want to be a hero. I never did. I only got this far because it was what father wanted from me, and I wanted to do it without his fire too spite him. But a friend of mine has made me realize that I don't need to spite him. I don't know what I want yet, but it isn't this."

The first sound following what he said was a slow, hesitant clap from Midnight. It was clear that she was confused by what had just happened, but she also seemed... proud.

Next was a shout from Kirishima, "Way too go Todoroki! Standing up for yourself like that is super manly!!"

After the first two, the stadiums filled with the sounds of clapping, and some people shouting encouragement to Todoroki. It was amazing, and Izuku could feel a wide grin spreading upon his face.

Then it happpened. The anger burst, and a loud roar rang out above all the noise, "SHOTOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

The roar was followed by a wave of heat, and the anger behind it was enough to make Izuku tremble despite it not being directed at him.

Todoroki flinched visibly at the shout, tensing in an instant.

"You need to stop this childish rebelion at once!" Endeavour declared, already out of his seat and on his way down to the stadium. "It was one thing when you didn't use my half of your quirk, but this? This is a horrible decision that you will regret! Do you seriously think that going to such lengths to disobey me is a good idea?"

Todoroki looked angry, or at least as angry as his stotic expression could get, "This isn't about you anymore. It's about what I want."

"Oh, so you're just being selfish then? I raised you better than that!" Endeavour spat, and Izuku realized something. The expression on Endeavour's face was the exact same as the one that Kacchan had when he planned to put Izuku in his place with a beating.

Endeavour was going to hurt Todoroki. Izuku couldn't let him do that.

In a flash, Izuku stood in his way, green lightning lingering on his skin from quirk usage. "Don't touch him.." he hissed, and Endeavour took a step back in surprise. He was usually a lot more alert, but with One for All, Izuku was pretty fast.

"And what makes me think I'll listen to you?" Endeavour growled, Izuku's interference clearly adding to his rage.

For a moment, Izuku faltered, anxiety creaping in his mind. Endeavour had that look on his face, he wouldn't hesitate to scorch Izuku the same as Kacchan always did. It was never a good idea to make someone angry, it only ended in pain for him he should run-

No.

Anger steeled his mind as he said, "If you try to hurt him... I.. I'll take your quirk! And I think I'll keep it, too! You.. You shouldn't have it if you just wanna use it too hurt people!"

In any other situation, Izuku would never threaten to steal someone's quirk permanetly, but he was mad. And he believed what he had said, too. Someone who wanted to use their quirk to hurt shouldn't be able to have that quirk, just like someone who only wanted to have weapons to hurt shouldn't have weapons. He just.. never thought of it until now.

"Midoriya, don't-" Todoroki called out from behind him, just as Endeavour said, "You wouldn't."

"Oh I would. You saw, didn't you? I took Kaccha- Bakugou's quirk during the second round. I can take yours."

It was in that moment, that Izuku noticed the cloud of purple mist forming at his and Endeavour's feet. Before he could fully process it, it started rising up, and he breathed it in by accident.

His eyelids started to get heavy, and just as he was about to collapse, he realized, Oh, it's Midnight's quirk...

++++++

Izuku's dreams were not plesant.

In the dream, he acted upon his threat, and as soon as he did, what All Might had stated when he first developed All for One came true. He became a power hungry villain.

It wasn't an uncommon theme in his dreams. Quite the opposite, in fact. Most of his dreams involved him turning to villainy.

But it had been so close to reality this time! If Midnight hadn't used her quirk, he would've taken Endeavour's quirk, and then... And then...

He didn't want to think about his dreams anymore.

He shifted uncomfortably in the bed, the light, itchy blanket not anywhere close to the soft, heavy blanket he had at home. So he hadn't been taken home yet, then.

He slowly peaked his eyes open, instantly greeted by the now familiar sight of Recovery Girl's office. Groaning, he sat up in the bed, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes as he looked around blearily. It looked like he was the only one in the room, apart from Recovery Girl, who seemed to be doing some sort of paperwork or something.

Izuku sat on the bed for awhile, quietly watching as she worked. There wasn't really anything else too look at, and he didn't feel like telling her he was awake at the moment.

He didn't feel any pain, or anything else unusual, just a slight drowsiness that probably came as an after effect of Midnight's quirk. He was probably fine, then, and chances were Recovery Girl would let him leave as soon as she knew he was awake. He wasn't sure why he was in Recovery Girl's office, though. There wasn't really a reason he could think of if he wasn't injured, so unless he had managed to hurt himself when he fell asleep from Midnight's quirk...

Maybe it was because they didn't want to let him go home yet, since he had threatened the number two hero? And this was the only room in the school with a bed, so unless they put him in Aizawa's sleeping bag, this was the only place that they could really keep him.

There were other reasons why he might still be in school too, he supposed. The Sports Festival might not have ended yet, Mom might not be able to pick him up at the moment, ect.

Chances were, though, he was still here because he was in trouble. Why wouldn't he be in trouble? He had threatened to steal the number two hero's quirk on live television, and he had meant it! Of all the reasons he'd gotten in trouble, this was definitely the worst he'd done.

He briefly wondered if he should try to run away before he got put in jail, maybe become a wanted vigilante or something, when Recovery Girl turned around to see him sitting up in the bed.

"Oh, you've woken up! Good, good. Why don't you go head to your classroom, dearie? The awards ceramony is over, but no one has gone home just yet." Recovery Girl said, a smile on her face.

Izuku stared at her for a few seconds, before he eventually said, "I'm not in trouble?"

Recovery Girl shook her head, "You're not in trouble. Lucky for you, the authorities decided that since you didn't act on the threat, and it was to protect Todoroki, there would be no punishments. You'll be doing your internships next week with everyone else."

"Oh... Um, alright.."

That didn't make sense too Izuku. Why wouldn't they punish him? Wasn't that enough of a sign that he was a threat, a villain? It just didn't make sense.

He didn't say anything else about it, though, simply pushing himself out of the bed and walking to the door.

Hopefully he'd be going home soon..
