CHAPTER SIX / ACT ONE
I Think Of the Night in the Park
MYSTIC FALLS, 1864The night sky always had a way of calming Angelina, even when everything else seemed chaotic. It was like a blanket of stars that wrapped her up and whispered, "Everything's gonna be okay."
She often found herself sneaking away in the dead of night to the rose garden, just to escape from it all, even if just for a little while. There, surrounded by the scent of roses and the quiet hum of nature, she could finally breathe.
Tonight was no different. She liked it at the Salvatore's estate, truly; except it wasn't them causing her stress. It was her sisters. The majority of conversation between the two was about Klaus and nothing else. Angelina of course listened, not really caring, but she silently wished Klaus didn't hold the reins to her life. Still, she couldn't blame her. Who wouldn't be worried about their safety when they were being hunted like this?
She let out a deep sigh, savoring the crisp night air as she prepared to head back to the Salvatore's house. Just then, she heard footsteps drawing near.
Turning around, she spotted Stefan making his way into the garden. Quickly, she rose from the bench, brushing the dirt from her blue dress.
"I, uh, I'm sorry for wandering off," she blurted out, feeling flustered. "I just needed some air."
"No need to apologize, Miss Pierce," Stefan replied with a comforting smile. "I came out for some fresh air too."
She flashed him a smile, her cheeks tinged with a rosy hue. "Please, I'm sure we've grown to know each other long enough. Call me Angelina."
It was obvious to anyone paying attention that she had a bit of a crush on the youngest Salvatore brother. They'd only been staying with them for about four months, but Stefan and Angelina had practically been joined at the hip the whole time.
