Angelina perched in the cozy embrace of her bedroom's bay window, the door shut tight against the world outside. With Damon's book in hand, she traced the words as if they held the key to unlocking her past. But try as she might, she couldn't shake off the weight of her history, like an old cloak she longed to discard.

Every thought, every memory, circled back to Klaus. She held him responsible for the shattered pieces of her life. Once, she and Katherine had each other, a fragile bond against all odds. Now, turned and twisted by their new reality, they were prisoners in their own existence. No chance for the simple joys they once dreamed of—no weddings, no children, no place to call home, no peace, just the ceaseless dance of fear and survival.

He was her biggest nightmare and her deepest loathing wrapped into one, yet she found herself despising him more than she feared him.

It felt surreal to remember when she felt the opposite.

With a sigh, the doppelgänger shut the book, tucking it beneath her bed as if hiding a dark secret. She left her haven by the window and tiptoed towards the door, eager to escape the confines of her room. Morning had barely begun, her solitude interrupted only by the quiet rustle of pages.

She padded down the hallway, the distant murmur of Jenna, Elena, and Jeremy's chatter drawing her towards the kitchen. Their laughter mingled with the scent of breakfast, a slice of normalcy in her otherwise abnormal world.

Reaching the foot of the stairs, she snatched her jacket from the coatrack, slipping it on with ease.

"And where are you going?" A voice emitted from the kitchen which she immediately recognized as Jenna's.

"Just going out for a while," Angelina twisted her head in the redheads direction, giving her a faint smile. "I'll be back soon."

"Alright, just be back in time for the barbecue later!" She reminded.
