The Tenth Hunger Games

The Victor

Mags stood there. She heard the cannon blow and looked at Willow and Timber's bodies. She could hear someone announcing that she was the victor of the 10th Hunger Games, but she felt far away from everything. She grabbed the ladder that fell from the hovercraft, while another one picked up Willow and Timber. The doctors laid her down on a bed and knocked her out cold.

When she woke up her stylists were in her room, and getting her dressed in a turquoise dress that looked like fish scales. They did her hair and makeup, but she didn't like knowing that two people died so that she could live.Before she knew it she was about to watch the short version of the Games and be interviewed by Casey King.

They ushered her out on stage, and Casey asked her,"How do you feel about winning the hunger games?" Mags said the first thing that came to her head,"I feel very very guilty." "Why?""Because Timber and Willow died so that I could live.""Okay speaking of which let watch the highlights of the hunger games."

They watched the Games, and Mags cried almost the whole time. The worst part was watching Timber and Willow die again."You people are evil," Mags hissed. She was quickly taken off stage after that comment. She was met by her mentor and District 7's mentor Collin Brushfire."I honestly thought that we would have another victor, but you must be something special if they wanted you to win." He smiled at her. That day she was taken back to district 4, and as she lay in bed that night she made a promise to herself," I'm going to enjoy the life that Willow and Timber gave me.
