Ancient... Egypt?
Alex and Kitara pulled their backpacks further up on there shoulders.
Kitara complained. "Why did you tell me to pack this stuff? We're only going to be gone from the hotel for a few hours, not a couple of nights."
Alex shrugged her shoulders and readjusted her backpack. "It's just a feeling I've got."
"You and your "feelings"." Kitara stated sarcastically.
"Well, my little "feelings" have kept us out of danger many times. So quit bustin' on me will you?" Alex looked ahead and could see the marketplace just up ahead.
Kitara sighed. "Yeah, your right. But those other times were different. We were back in Philly, at home, when those things happened. We're on vacation now, nothings gonna happen."
"I hope..." Alex mumbled under her breath.
"What?"
"It's just that, the babes showed up last night and were with us the whole time. They're ghosts for goodness sakes. So if they're here than where's the guys?"
Before Kitara could answer her backpack started to wiggle.
"What the hell?" She took off her pack and laid it on the ground.
Alex took off hers and did the same. She could hear little sneezes from hers.
Kitara opened her backpack. Inside were two sets of gold eyes peering back at her.
Alex and Kitara grabbed their packs and snuck away from the tour group. They found a hiding spot behind a piece of an old ruin building.
Alex unzipped her pack and watched as four little ghosties walked out of the two backpacks. Drake and Fang in hers. Leo and Sheik in Kitara's. "Didn't we tell you to say in the hotel room?"
The four nodded their heads.
Kitara sighed. "Too late now, we're already at the market place. Best just to hide them in our packs till we get back to our room."
Alex sighed as she watched the four ghosties crawl back into the packs. She got a really bad feeling but tried to dismiss it as just nervousness.
Kitara walked a step ahead of Alex as they entered the market and rejoined their tour group. They stared at how everyone was dressed and what they were selling. Some people wore the old-fashioned clothes but most just wore blue jeans, a raggy t-shirt and a head scarf.
Alex took out some of her money that earlier was transferred into the type of money used in this area. She pulled Kitara away from the group and went off to buy food.
Kitara spotted a fruit stand. "Hey look at this!"
Alex spotted some mangos that were just right. She purchased six of them then thanked the guy behind the table. As they walked away Alex dropped two of the mangos into Kitara's pack and two into hers. She grabbed one out of the bag and stuck it in her mouth to hold while she gave the last one to Kitara.
As Kitara and Alex walked around and finished eating their mangos they looked around at jewelry and pottery. Alex bought them new charms to add to the bracelets they had started at the beginning of the trip. Kitara went and bought some sort of chicken teriyaki on a stick. After that was finished the girls decided to go and get some dried fruit and try some other hot foods.
Just as they had finished off their latest food the tour guide leader called everyone together for the main event of the day. The group members got to get on camels in twos and the one who knew how to ride better would sit up front.
