The walk to your rental wasn't much farther after you left the mall.

Once you got back Kunikida pulled you two aside and told you he and the rest of the members would be leaving sometime around 1 or 2 in the morning. You both nodded and bid the others goodbye. Since there were so many rooms you gave your room to Kyouka Yosano, whilst you shared a room with the tiger shifter

You of course asked for his consent first and he said it was fine. So here you are, Atsushi on the left and you on the right facing the wall.

"Goodnight, Atsushi-kun."

"Goodnight [y/n]."

After the responses you find yourself slowly drifting off to sleep.

It's been a good hour or two since you fell asleep, and for some reason you felt heavy breathing coming from the otherside of the bed.

Your mind then reminded you of something that Atsushi had told you just before you went to be.

He'd get nightmares of the orphanage.

He said it only happened once every few months, and if it happened to him again he would try to wake himself and remind him that he's not there anymore.

Since you had your own apartment somewhere else you never really experienced it. You've heard from Kyouka, that she hears him get up and go to the bathroom to splash his face or go outside to get some fresh air.

Once that rang in your mind you sit up and turn your head to see Atsushi sweating, and panting in fear. You turn your body to face him and start shaking him to wake up.

"Atsushi!.... Atsushi!.." you kept shaking him and starting whisper-yelling his name.

"Atsushi! Atsushi wake up! It's just a dream!" his eyes remained closed, his mind and vision still in the dream.

"ATSUSHI! WAKE UP!!" you finally yell. Atsushi's eyes shot open as he sat up.

Tears started to well up in the corners of his eyes until they started to flow.

"Hey, hey, Atsushi, look at me."

You cup his checks and turn his head to look at you.

You put on a small smile and place your forehead against his.

"Atsushi, that's all in the past now, whatever happened back then isn't what's going on right now. You're not that same kid. You're stronger now. And not just physically. You've accomplished so much in the time that you've been here, And I am very proud of you. I'm grateful that you found this place, even if a suicidal Maniac made you discover your ability, he made an amazing choice."

You peck his forehead and bring him into a hug. The boy was stunned for a couple seconds but hugs back with no hesitation.

"Do...Do you mind..if we..sleep like this..I'd feel better if I stayed in your arms.."

Atsushi says. He didn't seem to realize but you didn't mind at all. If Atsushi wanted to be held by you then you would gladly do it in a heartbeat.

You break the hug and lay back down and open your arms as the tiger shifter snuggles up to you and hides his face in the crock of your neck.

You stroke his hair in hopes that it'll calm him down. Once you hear the soft snores of the Tiger, you let out a sigh and find yourself slowly drifting off to sleep, with Atsushi still in your arms.
