As everyone was there except Sakusa, and they knew he won't come, they started hanging out. Eating, drinking, little chitchats...
Some of them are light headed, Oikawa is drunk. Bokuto is sad because Akaashi didn't give him the 5th kiss, yeah apparently he's also drunk.
"Atsumu let's dance." Oikawa pulled Atsumu and started jumping.
"When did you even drink that much?"
"Hm I don't know."
Semi and Shirabu were arguing about something, in the kitchen.
"I just want to make sure you're okay Shirabu."
"I'm okay. You're not my parent let me drink."
"You know what happened last time. We ended up in hospital."
"That was different." Shirabu frowned. Took a sip from his glass and walked other way, almost falling.
"No please give me that you're already drunk."
"Leave me alone."
Semi desperately followed him. Watched him silently and carefully in case something happens.
"Atsumu I might puke."
"Please no no no. Let's get you sit down and I'm gonna bring you some water." He helped him walk where Iwaizumi was sitting. Oikawa sit next to him and hugged his arm. Iwaizumi patted his had with his free hand. "Don't throw up on me please."
"I'm tired Iwa chan."
"I wish Sakusa would come either. You said he tried treatments right?" Akaashi asked Osamu.
"He said he did but they didn't work. Once he said he was almost getting better but I think it didn't went well. I don't know much detail."
"I feel sorry for him. I would say let's go and check him but that wouldn't be better I guess." Iwaizumi joined the chat while rubbing Oikawa's hair who is almost asleep on his lap.
Atsumu came back with a glass of water. "Did he fall asleep?"
"Yeah. Is that for-"
"Yeah. I'm putting this here." He put it on the coffee table. He sighed as he sit next to his brother who opened his arm instinctively and patted his shoulder.
"You good?"
"I'm bored."
"I'm sorry I guess alcohol wasn't a good idea."
"That's fine Samu it's just I don't feel the mood."
"Wanna play game?"
"Nah."
"Hey I prepared a bag of food. For Sakusa. Do you mind take it to him?"
"Do you think he would eat that though?"
"He ate my food before."
"Hm. I don't think he would take it if he saw me but anyways. I want to take some air."
"Okay it's on the counter. Thanks."
"Yeah no problem."
Atsumu took the bag and put his shoes on. He closed the door and left the building. Fresh and cool air hit his face as he closed his eyes and enjoy it. "Wait a second. I don't know his house."
He was lazy to go back so he pull out his phone to call Osamu.
"I don't know his house."
"A little far from that grocery. *** apartment. Number 7"
"Okay I'm going bye."
He walked towards the building. Street lights weren't good enough to lighting but lights of the grocery were helpful. As he saw the building he went inside. Stand in front of the door numbered 7 for a good 30 seconds. He finally decided to ring the bell.
The door opened a little late, after the second ringing. Fragrances of cleaning products was the first thought in Atsumu's mind. He saw Sakusa with a low kind of mood, maybe it's because he was seeing him without his mask for the first time. Maybe it was just his usual face.
"You good?"
"Why are you here?"
"Samu prepared these for you." He extended the bag and Sakusa looked at it. Atsumu facepalmed himself in his mind and almost put the bag on the ground but Sakusa took it before that. Their eyes connected immediately.
"Thank you."
"Of course."
They stared at each other for some time and Sakusa finally broke the silence. "Anything else?"
Why I'm keep doing this lately? Sakusa thought as Atsumu looked embarrassed.
"Um. Are you okay?"
"Why I wouldn't be?"
"Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be mean. Samu told me why you didn't come. I wish you could."
"I- I'm a little busy with something."
"I see. I don't really have fun there."
"I don't know what to say."
Atsumu sighed.
"I would say come in but- you know."
"Hm? Yeah no I don't mind. Uh sorry. I was literally 9th wheeling there and my mind couldn't handle that."
"That's... a lot of people." Sakusa was looking down and he looked like he was thinking about something.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"What?"
"I can see the trace of tears on your cheeks and your eyes are teary again and oh-"
Sakusa couldn't hold them back and they fell on his cheeks one more time. He immediately wiped them away and avoided eye contact.
"This is just an allergy."
He chuckled nervously. "Wanna talk about that allergy?"
"No thanks."
"Alright. Should I stay or-"
"You should go."
"I- okay. See ya-." The door is closed.
Atsumu turned away and left the apartment. He wondered what happened to him. Maybe he felt bad because he couldn't come? That's not it right?
