CHAPTER TEN

"What do you mean the princess?" Bret asked Jarret as she turned around and saw Bret. She is panicking now.

"I didn't say princess," she said as her voice shook.

"I clearly heard you say princess," Bret said as he sounded extremely serious and curious.

"I always call her princess because she is my princess" Jarret said as she walks away nervously.
"If I'm not mistaken you said the princess not my princess," Bret said but Jarret didn't bother turning back.

"What is going on?" Bret thought to himself.

Bret helps Jarret to clean the wounds on Amber's body though there is a lot of bad tension between them.
Some time passed Amber woke up screaming. Bret and Jarret came rushing into the room.

"Princess, are you okay? " Jarret asked, worried as Bret looked at Jarret. Jarret immediately knew why Bret was looking at her and she felt awkward as she hits her head slowly.

"Amber. what's wrong" Jarret asked

"I saw him, mother, the man I killed," Amber said as she shook.

" I can't get him off my mind. I see him, mother. he's in here with us. He wants revenge" Amber said as she shook.

"You are shaking dear. lay down" Jarret tells Amber as she looked at her so worried.

"You! This is all your fault" Amber screams as she saw Bret.

"Pardon!" Bret said looking confused.

"it's your fault I have to live with the torment of this man's face implanted in my head" Ambers yells as she stands up pointing at Bret.

"I didn't mean to. I'm sorry" Bret said sadly as he looks ashamed.

"I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" Amber screams as she jumps off the bed, headed to attack Bret.

"Run," Jarret says to Bret as she holds Amber down.

"Calm down dear. lay down" Jarret says as she looks at Amber in the eye hoping she would calm down.

"it's his fault," Amber said as she slowly lost consciousness.

Jarret watches Amber as she sleeps and sobs quietly wondering what was going on.
"Sweet Princess, I don't know what's going on but you have to fight it. You have no idea how important you are" Jarret says as she places a kiss on Amber's forehead.

As Jarret watches Amber asleep, she noticed she was burning up and rush outside to get water to put on her head.

On getting outside, she saw Bret.
"I'm so sorry for what happened," Jarret said referring to Amber wanting to kill Bret.

"It's okay," Bret said softly.
"It's not normal. she's not normal" Bret said in a low voice.

"How dare you? My daughter is very much normal" Jarret said picking offense.

"I don't mean to be rude. I am trying to help. I think Amber killing that man is triggering something inside of her" Bret said as he looked as serious as ever.

"How can we help her?" Jarret said as she looked down thinking of her beloved daughter. she truly loves Amber.

As Jarret asked that question, Amber came out and Jarret looked at her and said
"You are burning up dear. you are meant to be in bed" but she ignored her and continued to walk.

"Amber, wait," Jarret says as Amber stopped
"But he calls for me mamma, " Amber says not looking herself with tears in her eye.

Bret gets in front of her to stop her but fails miserably as she pushes him out of the way and he falls to the ground.
