I sat in the hospital and stared at the heart monitor with cold eyes. She was still in a coma and her stomach was still wrapped. I knew I should've just brought her with me but I trusted Noah with her. Noah wasn't even at fault and it wasn't him who I was mad at.
It was my grandmother who was at fault and who my anger was directed at. Noah had needed to go to the bathroom and it was then my grandmother attacked. I remember falling to the ground and holding my stomach. I knew she had been hurt but struggled to get up to help her. Noah said he found my mate on the floor with her own sword through her stomach and my grandmother stood in front of her with a glove on.
My eyes were red and tears fell from them. I needed her awake now. I hadn't left her side in three days. I missed training and slept in the uncomfortable chair while holding onto her hand. I stood up in anger and launched my chair across the room and rested my hands on the side of her bed. I let my head hang down and focused on her scent. I was losing it very slowly and all I wanted was to be able to lay next to Skylar and have her scent surround me.
"What did the chair do to you?" I heard Noah asked. I growled in response and grabbed the plastic cup next to me and threw it next.
"I thought they said my mark sped up her healing process. Why is she still in the coma?" I growled. Noah put his hands up in defense and shook his head as he went and grabbed the chair and the cup.
"I'm not the doctor Andrew. I don't know how it works." He said and set the chair down behind me. I growled in annoyance and kicked the chair back before pacing around the room. Noah set the cup down and grabbed the chari again and sat down.
"I didn't like her at first Andrew. When she turned to try and kill you I decided then and there that I wouldn't let myself consider her anything more than my best friend's mate. I decided I'd be nice to her when you were around and ignore her the rest of the time." Noah mumbled. This caught my attention and got me to stop in my tracks.
"So it's all an act?" I asked.
"Not anymore. She grew on me. I see her as a little sister. I'm upset that she got hurt on my watch." Noah said. I frowned and looked at my mate who laid on the bed asleep. I just wanted her to be awake and able to come back to the castle with me. The doctor walked in and my attention went to him instantly.
"I came to say that your mate's injury is healed. She should be waking up soon." The doctor said. I stayed silent and watched him walk out.
"You're planning something. What it is?" Noah mumbled.
"My grandmother is going to regret hurting Skylar." I growled out. The door opened and revealed my parents as well as my grandmother and the girl she wants me to marry.
"You need to get out of this room." My grandmother said. I didn't say anything and stepped closer to Skylar. I wasn't going to leave until she could.
"It's your fault she's in this position. I want you out and take the girl with you." I growled. My grandmother rolled her eyes as my mother and father looked at her in shock.
"You're the one who put Skylar here?" My mother asked. She had taken a liking to Skylar quicker than my father. She treated Skylar like she was her own.
"The girl is a human. The queen needs to be a wolf like Lora here." My grandmother said.
"The queen needs to be the King's mate of he's never going to reach his potential. Skylar used to be a hunter. She's a great fighter and the pack loves her. Andrew loves her and we can't allow a random female to take the throne when the pack knows who their real queen is supposed to be. They would never accept her." My father said. I heard movement from Skylar and immediately turned my attention to her. I pointed at the lights and watched my mom turn them off before looking at Skylar. Noah stood and moved the chair behind me. I moved it closer and pulled my knees to my chest as I latched onto her hand. Her eyes opened slowly and I felt myself relax. They landed on me and her hand tightened around mine.
"If she is up for the move then you can take her to the castle. Make sure she takes things easy for a couple days." The doctor said. I nodded my head and listened as everyone left the room.
"Your grandmother did it." Skylar said.
"I know. She won't be let off easy. Just promise not to scare me like that again." I whispered and held up my pinky. She smiled but lifted her hand and hooked her pinky with mine.
"I want to go to our room." She said. I nodded and looked to find my mom in the room.
"Noah went to get her some clothes. I'll help her change." My mom said. I nodded and stayed in my spot until my mom kicked me out of the room. She was alive and that was all I could ask for.

Skylar's POV"He got me this?" I asked in shock as I held up a black lace bra with a matching thong.
"I think he's trying to get you two to finish the mating process." Andrew's mother laughed. I knew the next step was sex but the doctor told Andrew to have me take it easy for a couple days. I was sure that meant no sex too.
"I was told to take it easy for a couple days." I pointed out.
"Even if both you and Andrew are ready I can assure that if he wants it bad enough he'll be easy. He might try and be patient and wait for the couple of days though. There's no telling." His mom said.
"Was he alright while I was in that coma?" I asked her.
"Noah came by five times a day to clean the room up from his tantrums. This situation unleashed a new level of anger i didn't know he had in him. Just a few minutes before you woke up he had thrown that chair across the room and nearly hit Noah with the cup." His mom said. I hummed and looked at the chair and cup. Andrew didn't seem like he could be that violent. Even if he was i doubt he'd ever do that towards me.
