  (HAHA, SORRY I'VE BEEN DISTRACTED)

The following day Hinata stands in front of the door marked 'One.'

He sighs, putting his hands on his hips. This morning everyone had started tackling the rooms in groups of twos or threes, and that's whatever. Pekoyama and Koizumi already had an existing relationship, Ikusaba and Maizono are falling in love or something, and Naegi and Komaru are siblings; it's not hard to find a partner for most people; everyone is pretty friendly with each other. But here, Hinata is in front of his first room alone, ready to win.

Maybe had things had gone a little differently, he would be doing this with Nanami. She's always so good at any game thrown at her-ah, was. But now he has to do it alone. Even if he wanted to do this with someone else, he couldn't think of anyone who would like to partner with him-

   "Hinata-kun!"

He turns his head and sees Komaeda jogging down the hall towards him. "Don't tell me you're thinking of doing that alone?! Everyone is going in pairs for a reason," He grabs Hinata's hand and holds it firmly, "I've yet to face a room either. We're going to do it together, no complaining," He reaches for the door handle, "Let's go."

Komaeda left no room for protesting as he strung the brunet along into the first room, where they were instantly greeted by complete and utter darkness. The only light source came from the flashing red sign on the ceiling that read 'ESCAPE BEFORE "IT" FINDS YOU!"

"It?" Hinata mumbles, "What the hell is 'it?'"

"Well, I highly doubt it's anything good," Komaeda responds, reaching behind himself to reopen the door but coming up with nothing. "Ah. We are officially locked in, Hinata-kun. Say, do you hear something strange?"

The brunet reaches out and latches onto Komaeda's arm, listening intently. ". . .Sounds like. . .growling?!"

Komaeda's face is grim. "Guess we ought to escape quickly, huh?"

"No fucking shit. How the hell do we get out of here then?"

"I would start by moving forward and perhaps finding a wall."

Komaeda holds his hands straight out in front of him and begins to move forward, Hinata clutching tight to the back of his shirt so that they don't get separated. A couple of awkward shuffles later, Komaeda crashes into the wall.

"Ah. . .Okay, now we feel along the wall for the door out of here. Hopefully, it's unlocked." Komaeda explains.

   Hinata's eyes widen. "You're so smart, Komaeda-kun."

"Don't call me that yet. For all we know, I'm leading us into a trap or straight to 'it.'"

   "But probably not."

Suddenly the wall cuts off, revealing more space. Komaeda frowns and feels ahead, finding more space.

"A passage? How big is this room?" He questions.

"Maybe there's also an obstacle course or a maze," Hinata switches to clutching Komaeda's arm, "That just makes the challenge even harder."

   "Grrrr. . ."

   "Shit."

"Alright, come on, Hinata-kun, let's go before we're ripped to shreds, and our brains will be splattered all over the floor," Komaeda says cheerfully, moving forward with Hinata still clinging to his side.

"Why do you need to be so morbid? I mean, I'll do it, but damn."

Komaeda smiles in the darkness. "It worked really well when I was a camp counsellor. Get out of the tree-I'd say. No, they'd scream. You'll fall and splatter your brains everywhere, and you'll never run again. And they'd get straight out. It was quite amusing, actually."
