That weekend was mostly uneventful, just Venti's brother's funeral taking place in Wangsheng Funeral parlour.
Venti already knew he had a lot of explaining to do, and so he prepared for the next day as it was currently Sunday night.
"Hey Xiao! Back from your little killing spree?"
Venti had learnt that Xiao would take out anger or pain on monsters. He said it 'calmed him'. The bard didn't dare question it, he just wished he could help the other because he knew this wasn't healthy.
He had come back with a bit of blood on his face, nothing much too crazy.
Xiao just grunted in response, grabbing a drink from the fridge.
"I see. Goodness Xiao, Are you sure there are no alternatives?" Venti said, a bit worried for the reckless boy.
"Mm.. I'll be fine. It's what I deserve." Xiao stated as he wiped his forehead with the back of his hand.
"Don't be like that, you emo!" Venti sniggered.
"Shut up. I'm not emo." Xiao sighed, taking a seat on the couch.
"Alright whatever you say," Venti hummed in response. "I'll be on my way now, after all I should be going back tomorrow."
Xiao dryly nodded in response, before quickly whipping his phone out.
"Venti! Where on earth were you? We tried contacting you but you just wouldn't respond!" Ayaka exclaimed, shooting Venti a worried, but weirdly soft glare. Sucrose nodded in agreement also worried.
Venti awkwardly chuckled, before mentally preparing himself to break the news to the two.
"Oh hehe, My uh.. My brother he.. He died. I'm sorry, the news came suddenly to me so I reacted in the wrong way. I'm so sorry guys,"
He managed to actually talk about his brother without crying, which was a big achievement for him. But Venti could see the sadness welling up in his own eyes, and the warm-hearted people infront of him winced with sympathy.
